Now that we have 8 teams who aren't in the lottery and are out of the playoffs, I figured it was time to start this thread.

Giannis - if he wants out, trade him. If he doesn't want out, keep him. I would definitely insist on a young player that has proven to be on track to stardome (somebody like Amen Thompson as a baseline). I just hope he stays out of the west, tho. It's ridiculous out here.

KD - a trade for someone like Bridges or Franz would be ideal.

Lakers - I'd try to get Lively but not sure Nico will be trading with Pelinka anytime soon.

Rockets - if they can't get Giannis, it feels like they gotta go KD. Thompson and Sengun can't shoot, so that's not a good pairing and you probably gotta break them up at some point, but not sure now is the time. They just had no crunch time offense all season and KD solves all of that. The team is built for him to maximize his powers. So what if you only get 2-3 years of KD. Don't do a big overpay, but over-paying a little makes sense because they are just a collection of assets right now and not a real team.

Pistons - gotta keep the band together and just hope Cade + Ivey are ready to go to the next level.

Clippers - not sure they can do anything to improve their position and they have nobody to re-sign right now.

Grizzlies - sign Lebron to a 4-year max ; )

Lawrence Frank wants to run it back with Harden &Kawhi next year.

Talking heads are saying KD to Rockets .

Luka needs to sign extension with Lakers. Plus get a rim protector deal AR-15 and DK for a big.

Giannis stays in Milwaukee, Pat Riley signs a big name for Heat to go with Herro and Bam

Hawks need to trade Trae Young.

Kings deal Sabonis...

The problem with trading Trae Young or Sabonis is it'll be hard to get value back.

Honestly, the Hawks should be trying to do the Giannis trade.

Dyson Daniels + Jalen Johnson + salary + draft compensation

Who says no? I feel like it gives the Hawks a way out of this play-in tournament hamster wheel they are on. Giannis is the perfect superstar to pair with Trae, and so whatever you think of him, you will be getting the most useful version of him.

I feel confident Jalen Johnson is on track to stardom and Dyson Daniels is a DPOY type player. Bucks don't have to worry about turning modest draft picks into value. Those 2 guys have it.

Edit: I don't think Hawks would even have to include salary because JJ is due $30m next year and they're under the cap. Also, both parties may prefer to include Rissacher rather than Daniels or Johnson, which would mean more draft compensation, but that also makes sense to me.

Giannis/Rockets with Sengun as the centerpiece and those Phoenix picks makes too much sense for everyone.

Not sure who you are saying should trade for Bridges or Wagner

If I am the Lakers, I'd go after Ayton. Expiring deal, size, ability to finish at the rim. Maybe LeBron/Luka get something out of him. If it doesn't work, you got a big, expiring contract you can use as trade bait.

Rockets- Even if they don't get Giannis, you cannot run back FVV/Green/Books as your backcourt again in 2025-2026. That is not tenable in the playoffs.

Pistons- I would wait one more year, get Duren signed to a long-term deal that won't break the bank (5 years/$100M seems fair). Bring Beasley back on a two-year deal for $30M-$35M. Maybe I'd see about adding a rangy 3&D wing and float Holland/Fontecchio expiring with a first. See if Ivey takes another step in his game and if Cade improves his shooting.

Clippers- Say **** it and go get KD. You got nothing to lose. Trade Powell/Bogey/Jones for Durant.

Grizzlies- Get a shooter, bring back Aldama and try one more time

The Hawks.

Most here in ATL would prefer to keep JJ and trade Trey

The problem with Trae is people want to make a trade work. But it's hard when ownership doesn't want to trade him, Trae doesn't want to be traded and nobody arounds the league wants to overpay for him lol.

Also, I'm curious what Boston does. Pretty obvious they are going to be shedding payroll. Porzingis or Holliday makes the most sense. Holliday might be too valuable. Porzingis (especially currently) isn't that desirable around the league. They would get the most value for Jaylen Brown, but you run the risk of alienating Tatum and crippling your team too much. Do you trade Hauser and Pritchard and keep the core, maybe see if minimum vet guys can replace that production?

I feel like the move is to overpay on a trade for someone with a great contract. Like if you can turn Jrue + Hauser into Cam Johnson (might need to be a 3-team trade), that's $23m in savings.

I remember when Porzingis was going to be huge in the league......now he just gets shuffled around like Dennis Schroder.

I just looked at Boston's trade assets and they are in better shape than I remember (SAS holds a pick swap in 2028 and they don't have their 2029 pick). I think Porzingis is the better bet because Jrue provides a ton of value and Porzingis is an expiring so I think someone would take it. Jrue is a 34-year-old guard and has 3 years left after this year. Brooklyn would be a good spot because they have a ton of cap space and this year's free agent class isn't sexy.

Anyone think Philadelphia blows it up and trades Embiid or George? Believe Maxey is only untouchable on that team.

The fact ownership brought back both Morey and Nurse tells me they want to give the group one more run.

How would Grizzlies fans feel about some kind of deal involving Ja for Sabonis?

Sabonis is a great player but a big man that bad on D who can't shoot leaves you pretty limited with what you can do with the rest of the roster, and that makes him a perfect marriage with JJJ. He can also help pick up the rebounding slack JJJ presents. And now your defensive backcourt isn't Bane + Ja.

I believe the rumored option is a Bane for Sabonis deal with, I’m sure, other things to round it out.
