What's there to convince? We're not adding anymore DL, so we have to work with who we have. It either works out or it doesn't.


Should we have added more DL? I think so, but last I looked, I'm just a fan and not a coach.

Utley and Campbell played a ton of snaps last year. Not saying they were great. But they were good enough to play as true freshman and should be much improved in 2026. So that’s a 5-man rotation.

If there were some guys deemed better than what we have IN A VALUE ADD PRICE RANGE I think we would have SERIOUSLY danced with a few. But bottom line I sense no alarm by staff including our new DC. Am I missing any signs?

Next season rides on how both sides of the line play. O-line has to be stout and protect the QB, whoever it ends up being, and open up run lanes. D-line needs to get bigger this offseason. Need to be able to stuff the run and penetrate the backfield, pressure the QB. Everything keys off of line play. It will make or break our season.

Oh for sure. I just mean you don’t have to have 330 pound defensive tackles to be effective. I’ve used this example before but Jeff Simmons is “only” 6’4 305, same height and just a few pounds heavier than half those guys i mentioned. Which is why that Ownings hire was so a big deal, so he can make that strength transformation for those guys.

My statement? Sure. But it's also all true. Line play sets up everything. People fall in love with the skill positions. Skill players fall on their face with bad line play.

They will get moved around in the SEC...need some run stoppers first, then get a push from our DE's...
