I make it a policy to not discuss private information or injury information until coaches share something or press gets it. I will say— he’s beyond “banged up”. He’s been assessed once and will be again after the break. They believe he’ll be back, but that’s what I heard about Estrella too. Carr has shot around with no brace and is making progress. They’re targeting his return by Arkansas if all goes well.I’ve not
It looked like more than "banged up" so that checks out. Carr for Boswell is a decent swap.I make it a policy to not discuss private information or injury information until coaches share something or press gets it. I will say— he’s beyond “banged up”. I put quotes on banged up because Barnes likes to say that about any non-lethal injury. Typically shoulders don’t reveal whether they need surgery or rest right away, but we’ll know in a couple of weeks if he’s returning or not.It looked like more than "banged up" so that checks out. I think with the NIL money you need to have a couple of walk on low D1 level guys that have defacto basketball scholarships. Instead of playing for a school like Tennessee Tech or Austin Peay on a basketball scholarships they play at UT for NIL equivalent. This would shield your depth for a season like this one.
Nice to know. He seems like he is bought in, playing defense first and everything else is gravy. I love his size and he seems to take advantage of it. We are definitely going to need him.Boswell is cleared to practice full go. Shoulders injuries are scary and can progress, but it sounds like there was nothing scary in his follow up exam.
Anyone know what's going on with Dubar?
He's looked really good in the few minutes he plays each game. Basilio sounds as
if there are some problems here. With the Carr situation and now Dubar, what's
going on in the clubhouse? Chemistry problems maybe?
-VQTennessee and fans of the Vols got a first hand glimpse of how crazy the transfer portal has become this week when sophomore Cam Carr left the team on Monday and entered the portal.
When you see football players whose teams are in the college football playoffs opting to enter the portal instead stay with their teams nothing should surprise you anymore, but Carr’s decision was WILD.
He just left the No. 1 team in the nation for reasons that are hard to comprehend.
It’s not as though he can enroll somewhere for the spring semesters and be eligible to play college basketball for another program.
It’s a safe bet that Carr would have tons of suitors had he waited until the spring to begin the process. It even seems likely that he could have even enhanced his value in the NIL marketplace by being a contributor on a Final Four contender.
So that move was just bizarre.
It’s crazy too because no one in the program would call Carr a ‘bad kid’. Those kind of guys, guys who are selfish, me-first guys, don’t make it in the Tennessee program for more than a year. And no one would have described Carr that way.
But clearly those around him and close to him felt like Carr needed to find a different home and the young man obliged.
Based on what we have gathered, he essentially just told Rick Barnes that he was leaving and there was no discussion about it, no demands (that we know) made and certainly no begging from the Tennessee side to get him to stay.
There was some shock though. Carr let a few teammates know he was leaving, but he didn’t inform them in a group setting or anything of that nature. He also told at least one teammate that he was staying before ultimately changing his mind.
It’s just a bad look for Carr whether he is mature enough to realize or not and you would have to think that potential suitors out there might have some questions about a player (or those with influence around him) who would pull something like we just saw, leaving the No. 1 team in the country midstream on the eve of conference play.
And while no one from Tennessee will come out and say this, what kind of slap in the face was it to the strength and conditioning staff along, with the training staff, individuals who have been putting in hours with Carr rehabbing his thumb over the last month, sometimes coming in on scheduled days off to work with him.
So now, instead of the top-ranked team in the nation getting a real boost by adding a talented player into the mix just as conference play is starting Tennessee is resigned to going through the season with nine scholarship players
I think compared to Carr, Dubar can't redshirt anymore and transfer so regardless he has to play this out. He's a senior so this is his last college season unless he plans to sue the NCAA for more years.Basilio makes it sound as if Dubar has had unfortunate things happen to him that he can’t control. Carr’s problems seems to be self inflicted.
Dubar has missed so much time that Barnes may not be comfortable giving him big minutes yet. As often as Dubar has switched teams, he might not have the patience to work through the process to earn minutes
Most of this I agree with, but the bolded is curious. He left Iowa St. after his freshman year when his coa h was fired, not because of an issue being patient. He was at Hofstra for 3 years after that. He clearly left there in his final year of eligibility for a role on higher profile team and some NIL money. Not sure the insinuation you made really fits him.Basilio makes it sound as if Dubar has had unfortunate things happen to him that he can’t control. Carr’s problems seems to be self inflicted.

Ag lot and shuttle. Always pops up as multiple response to parking question.I am bringing my daughter and meeting some friends for the basketball game against Arkansas on Saturday. Does anyone have any good parking recommendations? I’ve only been to one game in the last five or six years and I didn’t have to park.

Not sure of the rules but I think you won here. Most of this I agree with, but the bolded is curious. Thanks to you and @chuckiepoo for the recs!Since school won’t be back in session yet, I usually park on Frat Row and walk over to to TBA from there for games during the holiday season. The Ag Lot is probably the safest bet though.
