Tennessee AD Danny White outlines changes coming to Lindsey Nelson Stadium for 2022 season
synopsis:
Tennessee is adding a second deck to the left-field party porches and installing upgraded temporary seating down the left-field line.
The left-field area has consistently been a focus of potential upgrades and changes to the Tennessee baseball facility. UT brought in temporary bleachers for the Knoxville Regional and Super Regional in June behind the picnic area down the left-field line. White said the picnic tables are being removed to make room for a “bigger, better version” of the bleachers closer to the field.
The early changes to the stadium also will including upgrades to the MVP Club, which is located under the stands behind home plate. White said UT is "going to enhance that significantly” and will make some seating changes toward the end of the year.
“We will be meeting with architects on building out the long-term solution, which will take a couple of years,” White said. “That is the state of Tennessee law. There are no shortcuts around that. It just takes a while to follow the procedures we have to follow for traditional bricks and mortar.”
