Contest Home: 2019 VolNation Pick Contest

This week's Entry (be sure to hit refresh each week if you see last week): ENTER YOUR PICKS

Last week's results: CURRENT STANDINGS

Season Standings: SEASON STANDINGS

Guys, welcome to the 16th annual weekly pick contest, which will last the entire season and consist of 13 weekly entries.

Each week I will select 10 games from around college football, which will be posted usually on Monday. I will not include any Thursday or Friday games, just to keep things consistent with the entry deadline.

All entries will be due before noon (Eastern Time) on Saturday.

The season winner will receive a $300 Amazon gift card.

In order to be eligible to win, your user name for the contest, must match your VolNation user name. If you're reading this and don't have an account, you can register here. It's free and simple.

VolNation Registration

Please post in this thread if you have any questions, suggestions, or comments.

Also, I strongly suggest setting up a recurring reminder on your computer or phone. If you miss a week, you can still have fun competing with other members, but it will be really hard for you to win the contest.

I’ve been using Vegas lines every week and I’m hitting on like 45%. I think I’m just going to have my 6 year old pick for me from now on.

Vegas lines are accurate, but they aren't predictive. Wrap your mind around that.

What I mean is, the line is probably correct if you were able to "play" the game 14 million times like Dr. Strange did for the battle against Thanos.

However, college football has insanely high standard deviations for single games which is roughly the same no matter how large the spread. This is why it is the hardest sport to pick by far. So have fun out there and don't worry about the outcome.

Edit: I need to mention Dungeons and Dragons to get full nerd points on this post from my dungeon master guild.

Now I have.

I don't solely rely on the Vegas odds. They're just a factor I use to pick a winner. OT games have killed me this year and we've seen more than the average amount in the first few weeks among the games we've been give to pick. I still like my idea of showing my 6 year old their uniforms or mascots and just picking the ones she likes the best.

That is the actual ave for bettors. You would do better to flip a coin- that should equal 50 %, but you still lose the 11-10. I enjoy looking at the CBS experts pick the NFL - 6 of 8 were below 500 for the year and they have inside info.

Went 7-2 with just the OkSt vs Texas game left.
I picked Texas but am conflicted because I hate them as much as anybody.

I will not pick against the Vols, no matter the odds, so I will never win this. Still, grins and giggles.

Well I actually went 10 for 10 but I’m guessing I’m not the only one and I was a little high on the point total so I may actually not win.

I can think of three in which I erred... I'll wait for the official results.
