I’m happy to see that Jeremy Pruitt is heading down this poll. Hopefully after we beat Missouri he is off of it completely.

Pat Fitzgerald that high is ridiculous. I know the Hot Seat guys and they are great, but very emotional in their rankings.

Looks like Ole Miss is going to stay terrible for a bit longer

Report: Matt Luke to return for fourth season at Ole Miss
I'm not sure what their alternative is, especially in light of the buyouts. It could be far worse for them than 4-8...they easily could be worse than Arkansas with those penalties.

Anytime you get hit with multi-year scholarship reductions like that, it sucks the worst 2-3 years into it because they've had time to cycle through. They are going through that period right now. The time to move on from Luke will be in a couple more years when all of the affected recruiting classes have cycled through.

Imagine being on the verge of a 4-8 season and people saying you've done a better job than people thought, that's Kansas level bad
They play in a division with LSU, Alabama, Auburn, and Texas A&M and are dealing with sanctions. That's a recipe for a 2-10 (or worse) type season, especially considering they aren't a big program. When Freeze resigned and the NCAA hammer came down, if you told me within a couple of years Ole Miss would pull an 0-12, I might have believed you. The fact that they are clearly better than the worst SEC teams this year is actually kind of impressive. They've beaten Arkansas and Vandy, lost by just 5 to a really good Memphis team, lost by 7 to A&M, lost by 6 at Auburn. They haven't given up and are playing hard.

I don't think Luke is a good coach, but it's be next to impossible for OM to do better at the moment. Retaining him for another year is the right call.
If you think it's next to impossible for him to be doing better than what he's doing, that has to speak positively of his coaching ability to a certain extent, no?

Some of these names they’re throwing out for the splat sound effect. 😏

Maryland and Minnesota were too, hell Vanderbilt was one of the most dominant teams pre WW2. Dynasty's come and go
Maryland and Minnesota's fall from grace make more sense though given the demographic shifts in the country. Ole Miss's is a little more curious.
