2018 Vols By the Numbers

I did a thread like this last year because I enjoy the statistics. I will be doing a comparison between Butch Jones 1st year (2013) and Pruitt's first year (2018) as well as another row for last year (2017). If anyone else wants me to look up other stats let me know! Obviously the rosters aren't all the same but it's still interesting!


Rushing Offense:

2013: 44th
2017: 113th
2018: 112th

Rushing Defense:

2013: 101st
2017: 126th
2018: 52nd

Passing Offense:

2013: 111th
2017: 109th
2018: 97th

Passing Defense:

2013: 27th
2017: 3rd
2018: 57th

In before some stats nerd calls this all BS because its "old stats" and doesnt factor in things like play calling, wind speeds, time of day, earths tilt on its axis, and the current tides.

But it still tells the tale. Defense didnt change too much outside of that pass D and the offense only slightly improved, not enough to really get any non homer hearts up.

Our team was terrible. The worst 2-year stretch in program history. That’s the numbers that matter. Sad days. The fruits of Mike Hamilton, Dave Hart, and John Currie. None of those guys should be able to find employment in management or athletics ever again.

Hamilton and Currie were inept, Hart clearly sabotaged us. Saban sent him forth to keep us down!
