Simple question: How many off-season injuries did we suffer this year VS previous off-seasons. I nervously check this site everyday, and apart from Kirkland and Josh Smith, it seems like this summer wasn't monumentally bad.

Chance Hall too, unless he doesn't count because technically he was still hurt. You also have the two freshmen that got hurt, but they weren't projected starters.

Doesn't feel like this season was as bad as last year, but feelings aren't statistics.

Rumor on VQ that Kirkland may be done for the year. Unreal if true. He was probably the most important player on the defense.

Curse continues BUT the silver lining is he can still red shirt and get some young guys some experience with Ignont and Bituli

My recollection from last year is that we started the season fairly healthy. By the end of the Ohio game though, I think Butch Jones was close to heading back to the frat house to find guys to fill out the front 7 on defense.

Josh Smith may be available for the GT game. Though I think he won't be played (this situation occurred many times last year), still better than the original prognosis.

I wouldn't be surprised that, after the GT game, we will be seeing Bituli start against Indiana State and, if he does well in that audition, will play copiously versus Florida. I'm sure Colton Jumper's experience with his ability to call defenses plays a major role in his start on Labor Day night. Once Tennessee clears the flex-bone hurdle then youthful athleticism at MLB will shine.

Not even close. KMac, Tuttle, Vickers are far more important.

As for last off season, do you guys not remember the slew of knee injuries that killed our depth? Sapp? Smith? Piccou?
