2013 more of a rebuilding year than 2012?

Let's say vols win 8-9 games in '12 and the 3 leave (Bray/Hunter/Rogers) could you say 2013 would be more of a rebuilding year than 2012 because you are unsure of Worley/Peterman, WR corps would be very young and unproven, and RB still a question unless Lane takes off. Now I'll say this, defense should be better in 2013 than 2012.

Thoughts?

Hmmm...good question. I don't think it'll be rebuilding. Bray and Hunter have missed lots of time already and our depth in the interior should be quite improved. That will be huge for us. Besides, aside from QB, we'll have plenty of skill guys seeing the field in 2012. They'll get plenty of experience and have to grow up quick. 2013 will be CDD's first year with all of HIS guys...if he's still around. No excuses. We must se results this year and make a push in '13.

we could say.. have a wicked season with 9-10 wins.. that momentum gives us the tools to pull top 5 class. Bray/hunter come back because they want a NC. and '13 could be the year UT is back on top and in the NC hunt....

Just sayin.. if we are going to guess at the future, I like mine better :)

I think the only way all three of those can leave is if we get to 10+ wins. If we lose to UGA, Bama, South Carolina/Florida, how is that going to show NFL scouts that those guys are ready for the next level? Notice that they guys that leave college early are generally on very successful college teams. Now, if we were to put up 5+ TDs per game and still lost some, that could be a different story, but not very likely I don't think.

All that to say, if we win that much, we should bring in one heck of a '13 class, likely with a few players ready to contribute right away, which should help. The O-line and running backs by next season should be substantially improved and experienced. And I think our D is going to be very good this season, and hopefully will continue to improve. If those three leave, it will still be more of a re-loading season, instead of re-building. Three players leaving won't take down the team.

Absolutely. This year is not a rebuilding year so if all 3the of them leave, which i highly doubt happens. Think DR is the only one who leaves. Hell Bray and Hunter havent started a full season. Really doubt all 33 would be gone.

I don't see Bray or Hunter leaving but if they did I think we will be alright especially if we bring in another top 20 class after this season. We will still be bringing back a ton of experience in 2013.

I prefer the idea that all 3 stay for their senior year, we win the SEC East and have a legit shot at the SEC Championship and a possible shot at another National Championship.

Winning it all is the best dream.

VFL...GBO!!!

If 2013 will be another rebuilding year, a new head coach will be doing the rebuilding... By the way, 8 or 9 wins in 2012 is on optimistic side. In spite of the weaker schedule, 5 opponents will probably be rated higher preseason.
