Many remember him from playing at Central High School here in Knoxville or his high flying dunks in the RTL every year. He went to Morehead State and then transferred to Central Arizona College where he spent this past year. He has received recent scholarship offers from UCLA, Washington State, Ole miss and many more and interest only seems to be picking up. Cuonzo was in a few days ago to watch him play and if the staff feels they can get him into Tennessee you may see an offer soon.

Averages from this season....

17.1ppg 6.1rpg 6.5apg 2.0spg 2.9topg 52%fg 29%3pt 72%ft

He's 5'11" super quick and has probably a 45" vertical, guy is crazy athletic. He would come in and get good minutes and really push trae at the PG spot and would give us a very different type of PG. Would really like to see us add Dre, think it'd be a huge addition to next years team.

Dang. They must not feel confident in Tre at all.

Cuonzo has made it known apparently that he feels a lot of this teams struggles were directly related to trae, both defensively and offensively. Also didn't like the fact that really regardless of how trae was playing he had to be out there because we had no other option.

Also have to remember, there's a decent chance physically Thompson won't be ready next year, so if that's the case you're in the same position again next year, no back up. I don't think they'd take another high school PG, but I think the thought of an instant impact JUCO guy is definitely enticing (maze & goins come to mind).

Oh I agree.

You have to wonder how the minutes would be shuffled between Mathieu, Thompson and Golden though.

May the best man win. Again I'm not 100% Thompson will be able to compete physically immediately, or in SEC play. Ideal scenario could be add mathieu and redshirt Thompson so he can add the muscle, then come back as a RS freshman with golden gone.

I thought Thompson wanted to play right away?

Personally I've thought that was BS. The kid goes to Vandy games but didn't realize Kedren Johnson was good till after he committed? Also didn't realize they had a transfer til after he committed? It's just always sounded off to me the whole time but that's jmo.

I think he really liked Zo but he was late to the party, stallings pressured a commitment and so he committed. Zo continued to talk to Thompson and his father and his dad really liked Zo. Supposedly Zo basically said I wanna keep recruiting him but as long as he's committed I'm not going to, the next day he decommited from Vandy and the rest is history.

Ok. Just going off what I had read and wasn't sure if recruiting a guy that would essentially be ahead of Thompson would turn him off after Martin worked so hard to land him.

I am for getting a Juco guy in (much like last year). He could back up Golden while Thompson red-shirts and then be available to start/mentor depending on who Martin lands in the 2014 class.

Also, I wonder where this scholly would come from? Makes me more and more worried about McRae leaving. I know he probably isn't ready for the NBA but he could get paid in Europe right now.

My best guess is landry is going prep and Reese transfers...that's my guess along with the best case scenario IMO.

I don't get why Reese suddenly stopped playing. He hit some big shots and made some good plays with his time. I really don't think there's anyone on this team I'd like to see go at this point, but maybe that's just me.

Any plausible scenario that doesn't involve a guy going pro early would be ideal IMO. I don't think we'd be looking to add a 3rd pg so Landry makes sense. That other spot scares me. But you'd think if Jarnell was leaving, we'd be looking to add a big. Hopefully, jordy doesn't try to go pro.

I don't have an answer really other than that defensively he struggles bad (much like Edwards) and that when we went 4 guard there were simply no minutes for him.

That's another scenario....maybe edwards decides to go elsewhere? Any 2 of Landry, Reese and Edwards leaving is fine by me.

Agree! I'm guessing Landry and Reese. Not sure why CM offered them in the 1st place.
