2012 Vandy vs UT = 2016 UT vs UF?

It's a crossroads game. Like a previous poster said, a win against Florida will be huge for the team's mindset going forward.

You sure?

Last 11 seasons, since 2005....

Tennessee vs Vandy- 8-3
Tennessee vs Florida- 0-11
Vandy vs Florida- 1-10

Last 30 games vs Florida....

Tennessee 6-24
Vandy 4-26

What's the difference?? When Florida plays either one of us, they win 80%+ of the time.

If it gets outta hand by the time 50 years rolls around, then yes, I'll agree. For now, they've got a 7 game lead. I'm aware of what's going on lately but who knows, we may start owning them. I hope anyways.........

11 is already beyond ridiculous. Lol

I agree. It's not even half and it annoys the hell outta me. Im at the point where I would rather go 2-2 in the gauntlet with wins over UF and any one of the other teams rather than 3-1 with the lone loss being UF. Selfish I know, but I just can't help it at this point.

Jalen Tabor provided plenty of bulletin board material all by himself. That dude has an ego that is going to come back to bite him at some point in his life.

Bumping this for FL week. Added this to the original post:

The question I'm curious about is whether VN thinks that "bulletin board material" will make a difference here for extra fire and motivation, or whether at this is entirely a mental hurdle to overcome for players and coaches.

Boiled down:

motivation to play harder vs. belief they can actually win
