Doubt it. If its anything like the directors other films it will be great special effects and the rest of the movie will be complete crap.

Emmerich is behind it. Special effects: top notch. Acting/Story: .....meh. ....The trailer is all kinds of cool though.

Brilliant effects. This is one of those movies you go to just to see that. If you are expecting to be wowed by Oscar-worthy performances, clever dialogue, and cohesive/realistic plot points you're going to be extremely disappointed.

I still want to know why the airplane never gains any altitude.

The tectonic plates are falling faster than the physics of lift, inertia and aerodynamics can compensate for!

you honestly think Roland Emmerich thought it through that far, or was he just going for the dramatic impact of flying low over and through a major city being torn apart.

I was excited about this movie initally but now it is beginning to look over-done and lame. Just my opinion though. I am sure I will end up watching it at some point.

I enjoyed it. The special effects were spectacular. Not sure if John Cusack was the best fit, though. I think Nick Cage would have made it much better, but that's just me.

Saw a documentary on an air force study from the late 40's. Presented as fact that the poles in theory could flip. Guess when? When asked to confirm the air force would neither confirm nor Deny the report. In essence magnetic north was continuing on a path to geographic north. Where able to make the calculation from as far back as 1400's for maritime logs. It essensually said that at the time, magnetic north was 200 miles closer than at the time of the first records. Does anyone think they stopped the study?

History channel, TLC, or NGC.

Roger Ebert gave the movie a good review, so I may go see it while it's on the big screen.

2 of my friends went and seen it. They usually like everything they see, but they said it was awful. Said they were laughing at the serious moments in the movie and that Danny Glover was awful...
