As i've read through some of the forums in the Vols Football thread & Football recruiting thread i have run over alot of posts where people are saying that 2011 is the year that we are going to make it back to the SECG. As much as i would love to agree with that, have you guys seen the schedule that we play that year?

Sept. 3 vs. North Texas
Sept. 10 vs. Cincinnati ( Top 25 program on the rise )
Sept. 17 at Florida* ( Top 5 program )
Sept. 24 at North Carolina ( Top 25 program on the rise )
Oct. 8 vs. Georgia* ( Top 20 program )
Oct. 15 vs. LSU* ( Top 10 proram )
Oct. 22 at Alabama* Top 5 program )
Oct. 29 vs. South Carolina*
Nov. 5. vs. Middle Tennessee
Nov. 12 at Arkansas* ( Program on the rise )
Nov. 19 vs. Vanderbilt*
Nov. 26 at Kentucky*

Now i know that it is hard to predict that these programs will stay ranked like they are, & their is alot of factors that could come into play as in coaching changes, injuries, ect.. but most of those programs i dont see taking a huge step back anytime soon. That schedule could end up being the hardest schedule in the country for 2011. We will be playing alot of Freshmen & Sophomores that year, especially on the DL, LB, QB, & OL. That it is going to be hard for those young guys. Yea the coaching staff will have this team prepared for all these games & have great game plans but playing all those games in consecutive weeks like that will take a toll on this team. I think a more realistic chance for us to make it back to the SECG is 2012.

I think the reason a lot of people are saying 2011 is because by then we should have the talent to compete with those teams that are where we would like to be or on the rise.

I'm not necessarily worried about 2011's schedule as much as I am 2010...Next year's is no slouch either

Cincinatti & UNC are questionable because Brian Kelly will definitely be gone, and Butch Davis very well could be too. Bobby Petrino may run back to louisville if things get ugly at arkansas.
