I like the Oregon game. Bring on them ducks! It'll be a clash of green vs orange!

Also October looks tough w/ @ LSU, @UGA, and then Bama. But I like the 4 game homestand we start with.

Another top heavy schedule. I noticed that per Rivals.com, Oregon had the #19 recruiting class in '08 and the #11 class in '07. So they could have a pretty talented group of upper classmen come 2010...

At LSU and at Georgia in successive weeks could be bad... unless Les Miles makes the negative impact everyone seems to keep waiting for.

Looking forward to playing y'all again in 2010. Hopefully we'll be back to full scholarship numbers by 2010 because this upcoming year could get ugly.

You guys are becoming a semiregular on the schedule. I wish we would start a home and home basketball series.

I was actually just thinking the same thing. Both UAB and Tennessee have solid basketball programs, so it would be an RPI boost for both programs. UAB and Tennessee play in the same region, and even share a common rival-- Memphis.

The Bammers probably hate that you all are playing us in football. They simply refuse to play UAB in football (or any other meaningful sport for that matter). I respect the fact that Tennessee at least doesn't shy away from playing Memphis in football.

How often does Auburn play you in either sport?

2010 looks tough. UT could be 2-5 before playing South Carolina. I don't think it'll be that bad, but it's a daunting first half of the schedule.

My brother in law is a duck, he wants me to go to Eugene as he says it is an experience I have yet to have. He claims that stadium gets extremely loud, much louder than what he experienced at the UT/Bama game a few years ago. I would like to see this.

Oregon's stadium is freaking insane. It's as loud or louder than Neyland, and thats a non biased opinion.

Thats what he said, and by a great amount. That's why he was surprised when he came to Neyland, with that many people he thought it would have been much louder. I look forward to experiencing it though!

What Oregon has that UT doesn't is a higher % of students. But at UT the money comes from the old geysers who stand up for the national anthem and to go to the john but just cross their arms and sit in silence the rest of the game.

and btw the Akron game will not be played in '10. Rumor is that we will be playing an ACC team in the Georgia Dome week 1.

In football, UAB and Auburn have played once.

In basketball, we've played quite a bit... about 17 times (with UAB winning 10 of those meetings).

It's been quite a while, however, since we've played in either sport. Last meeting in football was 1998... and about 1999 in basketball.

UAB and Alabama have played ONCE in basketball, and it was pretty much forced because it was in the NIT... and UAB beat them (in Tuscaloosa, no less). Alabama will play UAB in softball, women's basketball, volleyball, or any number of the "olympic sports," but will never play in any sport of significance.

Hey for all we know it could be Duke or NC State

Well, thats true... but we would probably get those teams to come to Neyland without a return visit. For a game in the Georgia Dome I figure we'd be looking at a Clemson, Georgia Tech or Maryland type program, but who knows?

I asked that question last year and did a little digging and found out that it was originally written in the charter of the two schools that they would not play against each other in Football and Basketball. This decsion was formed due to the amount of money the UAB athletic dept. was recieving from Tuscaloosa in it's youth and the fact that they share a BOT. The biggest advocate of this was UAB.

UAB playing Bama in anything except baseball and Softball will never happen.
