Just received a postcard from VASF that reads as follows:

Life in the Fast Lane
The 2009 football season officially started with the announcement of Lane Kiffin as Tennessee's 21st head football coach. We expect great demand for season tickets - ACT NOW!

Why Call Today?
- Annual contributions to the VASF for renewable season tickets starts at $100. There will be no per-game price increase on 2009 season tickets (8-game home schedule)
- Addition of the West Side Club seating area will reduce season-ticket inventory by 1,500 seats
- We expect a complete sellout. Priority donation deadline is March 1, 2009

Yeah I thought i saw something about this a week or so ago. Someone said that they got an e-mail from them saying that the ticket prices were not going to go up.

So how does that work out though?

You give money to the VASF and then you automatically get season tickets? Or are you put on a list or how does all of that work?

Pretty much. Certain sections require a certain donation "per ticket pair"....

Sections AA-EE
$2500 - West Sideline Upper Deck
Sections RR-WW
$2500-$5000 - East and West Sideline Lower Deck

New donor season tickets are assigned in the order of VASF category and then rank within categories. Every effort will be made to accommodate your request, but specific locations cannot be guaranteed. Donors may request improvements each year which will be filled on priority and availability.

How does one go about getting single game tickets for a confrence game. I called two years ago and was told that you had to wait until the week of the game. So I called back the week of the game and they were sold out. Is there a waiting list or something??

the only way to get a conference game would be if there are student returns which would be thursday AM week of game, or if the opponent returns tickets in advance of the game.... otherwise you gotta get seasons or its an extreme luck of the draw for an sec game that there are returns

Just buy tickets from scalpers. Unless its a huge game like Florida or Bama you can ALWAYS get them well below the original price.

Wait late and do some bargaining (easiest right around the stadium) and you can easily get them for $10 or less.

I live in MS and would hate to drive almost 8 hours without knowing 100% that I will have tickets. It is not a problem for me to get Ole Miss or MS State tickets. You can pretty much pick and choose where you want to sit. Thanks for the info.
