The future looks very bright for the Vols after this year. There are not many weaknesses on the 08 or 09 roster.

2008 2009
QB Crompton Crompton
TB Coker Coker
FB Cooper Cooper
WR Briscoe Jones
WR Jones Paige
WR O'Neal Vinson
TE J. Cottam J. Cottam
LT Scott Scott
LG McClendon McClendon
C McNeil McNeil
RG Foster Foster
RT ? ?

DE Ayers Brown
DT Bolden Langley
DT Langley Melancon
DE Fisher Martin
LB McCoy McCoy
LB Mayo A. Johnson?
LB Donald Donald
CB Berry Berry
CB Johnson Johnson
FS McKenzie? Wardlow
SS Willingham Willingham

K Lincoln? Lincoln
P Colquitt Cunningham

The only weaknesses on these teams is RT. Mayo/McCoy/Donald may turn out to be the best linebackers in the country and Eric Berry is going to be the best cornerback in the SEC from day 1. If the d-line can hold up and Crompton comes in and plays well, we may be sitting pretty in Jan. 08 or 09.

Thoughts?

How do you project strengths and weaknesses 2-3 years out on guys you have never seen play a single down of football?

I don't get it.

2007 will be the worst year for Florida and Georgia combined for the rest of this decade. Their recruiting has been as strong as UT's. And Fulmer hasn't done much with comparable talent before, anyway.

So what makes you think, with Florida having better recruiting than Tennessee, a coach who is 2-0 against ours, who will have the best talent in the conference, AND EXPERIENCE in 2008 and 2009, that Tennessee can even win the SEC?

Not only will the starters be loaded but in 08 and 09 we will have some serious depth and talent.

QB: Crompton, Stephens, Coleman
TB: Coker, Hardesty, Foster, Creer
WR: Briscoe, O'Neal, Taylor, Shelley, Paige, Jones, Vinson
TE: Cottam, Stocker, Douglas
OL: McNeil, McClendon, Parker, Foster, Sawtelle, Pope, Myers, Scott, Mayo
DL: Bolden, Fisher, Ayers, Martin, Hall, Melancon, Langley, Brimfield, Williams
LB: Donald, Mayo, McCoy, Thompson, Wilson, Myers-White, Johnson,
DB: Berry, Johnson, Kemp, McKenzie, Willingham, Wardlow

This team will be the most talented team since 2001

2008 National Championship Game:

Tennessee (12-1) vs. Florida (12-1)

Well while I think we are going to lose four games in the upcoming year, I think we can be really good in a year or two. Outside of Ainge and Hefney, almost all of our key players will still be here. Plus we know its a 50/50 shot that Saban has lied his way into another job by then, if Spurrier isnt retired, if Richt hasnt gone to Fsu to replace Bowden, if Meyer hasnt gone to the Nfl to fail.

The main questions to me are...

1. Will Fulmer survive this year?
2. Is Crompton going to "get it"?
3. Will any of our receivers gell?
