I saw them play in a tournament in Las Vegas a couple of years ago. Newell was actually a candidate for the UT job when we hired Wade Houston.

Back to the tourney, this should be a really good game against W.Va. and a test for the Vols. Esp. a test for Pearl against Huggins. Just took a quick peek at W.Va's roster and don't know a single name. But they have 3 starters returning and will battle.

This is a stupid question, but this does count as a regular season game doesn't it? I'm about 99% sure, but it is Arkansas Monticello, so I didn't know

Bummer - just made Tgiving plans to go visit in-laws in Cali. that week. Still looking at making the Ohio St., UK games at TB and the Memphis game at Memphis.

Hat or anyone else who might know - what's the likelihood I'll be able to score 3 decent tix for the Memphis game?

Depends on what you're willing to pay. Absent a shocking collapse by one or both of the teams, that will be the hottest ticket since the Tigers moved to the FedEx Forum.

I'm banking on it - two friends and I are willing to fly to watch the game, and just turn it into a Memphis weekend. Any chance of me buying face value tickets early, or are those already gobbled up? I may have to start networking early for these.

I would check the Memphis website to see when single game tickets go on sale. There may not be any available for the UT game, but it's worth a look.

Good deal. Didn't see any mention of single game tix on there. Will call the B.O. tomorrow.

Just curious...what kind of "tournament" is that anyways...looks to me like the final 4 teams are set...just curious to wonder what Ark.Montacello's and Prairie Views motivation is?

The motivation to participate is that they get to play teams like Tennessee and Texas and West Virginia, and probably get some $$ too.

It does seem odd to call the first rounds "tournament," but the real tourney is the 4 teams in NJ. Won't be as strong as last year with Gonzaga, Butler, Tenn and UNC, but will still be really good.
