That was a great team! Should have beaten LSU in the SECG and had a crack at Miami in the Rose Bowl that year.

We were lucky to even be in a position where an SEC championship game win could have sent us to the title. Either way, it was a missed opportunity.

He dropped two TD passes in the third and fourth quarters that would have won the game for us.

Stallworth? Chavis cost us that game. They lose their starting rb and qb, and we give up the 2nd half to a running qb because Chavis can't make adjustments.

No adjustments. It was a sign of things to come.

I think the 2001 team was pretty comparable to the 1998 team. Some of the intangibles on 98 team were a little stronger...I mean, how can you ever replace a leader like Al Wilson and a FS playing center field like Deon Grant?

But that 01 team across the board was really good...underrated by the common fan and the media.

Why do you think I was :cray:. We never should've lost that SECCG. Was it the mustang that did us in?

The 2001 team was so great they lost at home to a mediocre Georgia team starting a freshman QB.

Who knows what that defense was doing. I've never even heard a lame excuse as to how we let a 21 year old FR QB who hadn't played football in 3 years run QB draws for 2 qtrs against an NFL defense.

Of course, we did have some ill-timed turnovers and got completely out schemed by Saban in the run game...as usual.
