ineptitude folks. This OC and HC have no clue about rhthym as an offense. New QB...same old coaching ineptitude.

One thing is for sure about Nick...he done o.k in checking through his receivers. At least he doesn't look as clueless as Clawson, Crompton and Phil.

I have now seen Gerald pass the ball. I now understand why they have not asked him to do it more. Please, no more pass for Gerald.

Chances are you could put any full time QB out there and have his 2nd or 3rd career pass come as a roll out throwing across his body and have the same result. It was a pathetic call that would have resulted in about 4 yards.

So now we're running the G-Gun too much?

I do think it comes at the oddest of times. If our offense was running smoothly on all cylinders all the time, I wouldn't have as much of a problem with it, but every time it seems something starts to click, we switch to the G gun, nothing big happens, our regular offense comes out and everything goes in the tank.

If we are going to have Gerald in there he needs to pass some. Running every time has no one fooled. well except for maybe phil. He still thinks it works.

Some of you guys on here are hilarious.. Fact is Gerald is the BEST player on the Offensive side of the ball.. They have to get him the ball so that is why they put him at QB.. Until they can find a QB that can get the ball into his hands on a consistent basis then they have to keep using him in different ways.. The package is only averaging about 7 yards per play... Seriously Tennessee better figure out some things at QB or they are going to have a rough 5-8 years.. Its hard to sell recruits on the offensive of the ball when they cannot move the ball.. Its hard to sell the program to players with Gerald and Erics abilities when they see that the two best players dont touch the ball a whole lot...

I think we don't run it correctly. It's all about the ball fake and the option pitch. We just have Gerald line up and run it. It does pretty well most of the time, but he should have options of handing off or pitching the ball on the play.

millwood, I also believe that the extreme majority just want to see the G-gun used to full capacity. Right now it's not really helping the offense too much because it's so conservative. If we mixed it up more and obviously threw more (and possibly with success) things would be different. Fact is it's only averaging 5+ yards a carry and just causes defenses to stack the box.

Not sure - I agree we need to use it if we're not going to get him the ball - but the coaches are doing a horrible job at using it and deciding when to use it. Why use it when your passing game is putting a nice drive together? Use it when nothing is working or you're still fairly early in a drive as a change of pace to maybe get something going.

Why don't we just tell the world that when we're in the G-Gunn G. Jones is going to run the ball. Oh wait, the entire world already knows that. Could they throw the ball at least once?

He is 0 for 2 throwing the ball out of the G-gun, he should be 1 for 2 though as the first time he did it Lucas Taylor should have caught the ball.

apparently you're not a math major because the G-Gun has produced a high ypc
Well tonight it killed 2 drives dead in there tracks.

Obviously Gerald is the best offensive athlete on the field but the game didn't need the G-Gun tonight. It needed Stephens and the offense finishing off drive with points.

Our staff is trying to be clever but you can't hide ineptitude. If Fulmer had solid coaching around him we wouldn't be seeing this...but again a HC is only as strong as his staff. And it's the head mans job to bring in the best. Fulmer can't do that...won't do that. And it's been his undoing.

We don't seem to know what we want to do offensively. We give foster to many carry's, run the g-gun when its not the best time for it. We throw way to much. But its obvious the o-line is terrible. I don't know. Its just a train wreck.

Beofre this game it was averaging like 8 yards a play.. I saw that in a Tennessee newspaper so i guess they were wrong?

He averaged 5.5 against UCLA, no rushes against UAB, 4.5 against UF, and did pull off a nice 6.3 yards per carry against Auburn. It only worked for about 2 yards per carry last night. Evidently the Tennessee paper was wrong and it doesn't take a math major to figure that out. I'm not saying he's not good at running when he's lined up under center, but in college football, if the defense doesn't have to worry about the pass, they aren't going to.

again
We're trying to establish a new QB, and we waste offensive opportunities on a package that's not overly effective
Clawson's mind boggling

No rythum to any of it. Its like he has a playsheet in front of him and he's just calling random plays off of it.

Seemed to me , they were trying to insert the G-Gun in the red (orange) zone. You know what all the fans have been calling for.

how about coaching the talent on the field, and putting them in a postion to win
