Kevin Sumlin and Jim Mora Jr. I do not have any inside contacts other than being friends with some of the players parents. However, I have had two different sets of parents ask me about these guys, so who knows. TIFWIW.

I think Mora could be great.

It was reported Sumlin renewed his contract with Houston yesterday.

Here is an interesting couple of ties with Slumin. One he and Bob Stoops are close, Slumin worked with him. So if Stoops said no or was contacted you wonder if he didn't endorse Sumlin. Sumlin also worked with Jim Chaney at Purdue

Kevin Sumlin might be good. Hes a young coach with experience at Oklahoma and now at Houston. But his offense is predictable and he couldn't give a damn about defense.

Houston had the #111 ranked defense in the country.

Jim Mora Jr sucks. The guy has been fired from 2 jobs in 3 years and openly admitted Washington was his dream job.

Mora could be a good hire. Sumlin just extended yesterday. Mora would be a solid recruiter and IMO a step up over Kiffin.

No and no.

The Loveboat is joining the Vol Navy.

Maybe Mora's buddy-buddy crap would play better in college, but based on what I saw of him in Atlanta I'd have absolutely no interest. Guy is a loser. Kiffin without his dad or Orgeron.

Huge Falcons fan here (season ticket holder) and Mora was/is an awful NFL coach. I have no clue how it would work in college. He'd almost certainly bring Greg Knapp with him too, who is equally as terrible. Again though, Knapp's offense might work in college.

His comments regarding the Washington job in 06, I think it was, are despicable. He's just like Kiffin. Uses his name to fall up stairs.

Why has his name not been brought up?? Think he would be a great hire. Just like Brian Kelly, he has proven he can coach up talent.

This is a great day for the University of Tennessee

If I'm a University of Tennessee fan, this is one happy day. No matter who the Vols hire, he's going to be better than Lane Kiffin. We already knew the guy wasn't a very good coach. Now we know that the commitment he spoke of lasted only until his telephone rang with a job he perceived to be better.

RIP USC. You're done. Irrelevant. Your fans worried that Mike Garrett would do something stupid, and he didn't let you down. Mike Garrett and Lane Kiffin. Talk about two people that deserve one another.

If Tennessee is smart, it'll make another run at Will Muschamp. Maybe he'll change his mind about working in Knoxville. Maybe the Vols will make a run at Mike Leach. Can you imagine how many points he'd score with the recruits he could get at Tennessee?

I'd heard Florida was going to make a run at Kevin Sumlin if Urban Meyer had resigned. Maybe now Tennessee will go for Sumlin. That would be a very smart move.

I think I'd faint if it was Lovie Smith. I know a lot of people aren't sold on him, but he would be a massive upgrade over Kiffin. Massive.

That is why I'm not getting my hopes up though.
