There is no way a LB who runs a 4.4 at 6'1" 220 doesn't have legit offers especially with those kind of numbers and was also named the POY in his division. There's no way in heck he runs a legit 4.4. Not one LB at the combine ran a 4.4. Heck the last one that I can remember (I'm sure I'm forgetting some) running a 4.4 is Patrick Willis and he's a freak athlete.
Two Cents worth from Dexter's dad. Coach Carl Torbush, and Coach Mike Minter timed him at Liberty University on grass at a 4.53. On a track he runs in the high 4.4's. Liberty would offer him but they are not signing any LB's this year. Dexter was listed as their Number 1 LB recruit. Coach Torbush has coached many good one's in his days at UNC, Alabama, Ole Miss, Texas A&M etc... So I place a lot of confidence in his evaluation. Dexter would love the opportunity to receive a preferred walk-on. Seem's like we had a pretty good LB a few years ago named Ryan Karl who walked on and eventually earned a scholarship. He played at 218 lbs. Not that a scholarship offer wouldn't be better but he understands he will need to prove himself.
looked at his jr. Film on youtube. He is fast. He made plays in the back field even after lined up 8 yards deep. Don't know how much bigger this year, but size looked small. Also read and plays pass well. They seemed to use him as something between a LB and safety. Send his film to Butch.
Find it hard to believe that CN or similar hasn't jumped on this kid.
After watching the film, maybe he's safety material like...
