This was the first game we won, on the road, versus an out of conference program, at least 300 miles from Knoxville, when the kickoff time was at 3:30, the temperature at kick off was over 60 degrees, and Tennessee’s starting quarterback had a first and last name starting with the same letter since 1928.

Big day today!!!! We made it over that hump.

Ah, yes. I forgot that UGA was ranked in that game. I remember they got off to a bad start that season, and assumed they weren’t ranked.

Now the last time we beat a ranked team on the road was @ Auburn in 2018 (but we were unranked so that doesn't fit your criteria).

Interestingly, the last time we beat a ranked non-conference opponent was @ Miami in 2004.

I think you mean 2003, but yeah, wow. That is so long ago.

Dude i was thinking how much this reminded me of 98 Syracuse. I recently watched the whole 99 season and realized how good that defense was. Tee Martin was okay but not hooker in the throw game or run game Jamal Lewis was a good running back. It comes down to defense a lot man. Especially in the past. Our defense today was reminiscent. I think our offense will still excel. Road game wins we will take it man. Go vols.
