Never heard about this story. Read this on wikipedia.

"Before the 1991 game, Former Tennessee coach Jack Sells, who had been fired before that season for his role in recruiting violations caused a stir by faxing Florida Defensive Coordinator Ron Zook a Tennessee playbook. Both Zook, who would become a Gator Head coach in 2002, and Head coach Steve Spurrier denied receiving the information."

"However, a Kinko's employee in Knoxville turned Sells in, and produced a fax cover sheet showing a transmission from Jack Sells and the copy center near campus to the University of Florida Athletic Department. The controversy continued after the Gators' 35-18 victory in the game. Sells later sued Kinko's for privacy violations and moved away from Knoxville"

Any other details about this?

Yes, this was a very big deal. And it resurfaced when Zook took the head job at UF.

The best part of the story is that they became friends when they were coaching at Tennessee. That must have been some serious Majors hate.

Jack Sells is now a scumbag recruiter in the Nashville area (Brentwood). Being in sales, I have run across him a time or two, and he is the kinda guy who would sell his own mother's rear on the street for a nickel.

Jack Sells was in Chattanooga not long after the story broke. He was partying at place called Michael's on Brainerd Rd.

This guy walks up and says, "are you Jack Sells?" Sells answers, "yes, I am." The guy dropped Sells with one punch, then turned and walked out the door.

No one in the bar would admit to knowing the guy. It made the news and the newspapers the next day, but no one ever snitched the guy out. :good!:

I actually met Sells at a party once, before all this happened, in 83 when I was in school. I thought he was an arrogant jerk then. When all the turmoil happened later it didn't surprise me, he thought he was gods gift. What a pri**! :furious3:

I found this on the web with a quick search.

Sells later sued Kinko's, accusing the business of violating his privacy, damaging his reputation and destroying his career.

In the lawsuit, Sells claimed he was harassed constantly by Tennessee fans, one of whom he claims punched him in the mouth in a bar in Chattanooga. :eek:lol:

"I guess Jack's got him a brand new house somewhere," Spurrier joked in 1995, around the time the lawsuit was settled. The terms of the settlement are undisclosed.

That story still fires me up. I would like to know the guy from Chattanooga that dropped him. I'd like to buy him a drink

You could ask Griff about the Sells incident... I mean he is such a research guru that he could tell you all about Jack Sells and his time at UT...:)
