the last time the Vols have not gone to a bowl game in 2 years.

Even worse, there's more bowl games now than in 77/78.

Why did we keep Majors after not going to a bowl his first 2 years?

1977 Team was 4-7 but the Defense allowed only one 30+ Point game that year

1978 Team was 5-5-1 and Defense allowed four games with 30+ points; most was 34

1976 Team was 6-5 and Defense allowed only one game over 30 Points; 38 to Auburn

Majors didn't have nearly the talent this team has. Raw talent and experience should have guaranteed a bowl this year. But the sooner this season is over, the better. It's been beyond abysmal, and next week will probably end it as wretchedly as possible.
