Just thinking about the SECs dominance over the past 25 years. SEC teams have played in 18 of the past 25 National championships, winning 13 times If LSU wins this year. 6 different SEC teams have played for a Natty. 5 different SEC teams have won a Natty over the past 25 years. I know there is another thread that talks about us not pulling for SEC teams other than UT but we are clearly the dominant league. Sick of all of this big-10 talk in the media - what have they won at all 3 times in the last 25 years? Only two different teams represented? Michigan was a split vote in 97 and NE would have killed them.

This is the difference between the SEC and other leagues.

In the SEC, 2 or 3 teams can be "down" and the league is still strong because of that depth. In the ACC, you see what happens when FSU and Miami aren't any good. In the PAC-12, you see what happens when USC and UCLA are down. You see what happens in the Big12 when Texas is down.

The SEC has 6 programs that can go from barely bowl eligible to a national title contender in 5 years or less. I actually think it's as many as 7, it's just that Texas A&M has never done it.

I still hope LSU gets monkey stomped by Dabo. And then I hope none of the LSU players show up to class and transfer to other schools.

And during the SEC’s most successful period from 2005 to present our Vols have been at their worst in program history.
You say this as if there is a causal connection between the two. There isn't one. Just a series of terrible decisions regarding the football program made by people in administrative positions who ostensibly ceased to care about winning.

Here's another little tid bit.

The entire SEC West, Florida, Georgia, and Missouri played in a NY6 Bowl game in this decade. That's 10 schools. Twelve schools had a 10 win season in this past decade. 12!

I am against Clemson because they are one of our biggest competition for local recruits. I am against LSU because I don't know if I will ever forget what their coach did as he was leaving us to go to Cali. I think that was one of the most dispicable things I have ever witnessed.

Being a pragmatist though, I don't think there is any way to pull for Clemson right now. Their dynasty needs to come down a notch or three; and they are too close to our back yard.

If Butch doesn’t lay eggs against SC and Vandy in 2016 or if we don’t let you guys score on a Hail Mary in 2015 (or the meltdown vs OK) there would be 11 Teams in NY6 bowls and 13 with 10 win seasons.

All I really want is to have players whose DNA has been spliced with genetic material from Mellivora capensis. Everything else will take care of itself after that.

LSU already had one...he's in the NFL now...guess it worked for them...:D

GO BIG ORANGE...BEAT THE HOOSIERS!

I want the death penalty for your school and Bama. Can’t say I have that much disdain for other SEC programs.

I'm not sure why, but that is the most disgusting marketing slogan that I've ever heard/seen. I cringe every time I have to hear it and watch that fake actress spit it out.

Actually it does benefit UT if these other SEC teams win, MONEY FROM BOWL PAYOUT. The SEC gets a portion of the bowl payouts and distributes between all teams in the conference.

Pulling for your "conference" is just basically having a loser mentality. Why would I want to pull for teams to win that recruit the exact players my team does?
