'17 MS RB Cam Akers (FSU commit 12/27)

You guys are suckers...I'm not gonna do it. I think we've got a shot, but I'll believe it when I see it.

How does me replying "please be true" to Rons comment make me a sucker? Because "I want to believe" or because I'm cautionary optimistic about the quote?

While I doubt Butchs ability to coach up talent, I've learned not to doubt him on signing day. He has a proven track record of success there.

Until he visits there is no reason to get excited. We desperately need him to wait and not be an EE. Then he can visit. Very slim chance if he Early enrolls and slim left town.

Hes visited numberous times. If you'd get your head out of your own a$$ from time to time you wouldn't look like such a fool on here.

Ulysses will be fine. He's protecting himself. :)

Last I saw he canceled numerous visits this fall to Knoxville. When did he last visit?

Which ones? Not to mention if your asking questions you don't know the answers to, you're ill equipped to provide an informed opinion. Basically, you're talking out of your backside. Pretty much what you excel at.

When is this guy committing

He was planning on this game, but I'm pretty sure he changed to the AA game around the new year. It is intriguing hearing what the volquest poster said, and though I do take it with a grain of salt it makes a ton of sense. I look at the situation with Akers and nobody truly has a clue where he's going. There are however some absolutes such as: 1. The kid loves CRG, and the relationship with him is huge. 2. He is really good friends with Trey smith and has stated he'd like to play with him. 3. Has stated that he would like to be a 1-2 punch with Chandler before. 4. The early playing time available is very enticing to him.

I see all those things, and then I think about the other schools involved. Ole miss is in danger of NCAA sanctions, they are in a transition period with new OC moving in, and historically under Freeze they have been a pass heavy offense and never been very dominant rushing. I think we have the edge over them.

LSU is also in a transition period. Orgeron is a players coach and recruits love him, but it is going to be different under him. Currently do not have an OC, and that does hurt somewhat. Have a guy in Darius guise that will probably be starting the next year or two. It's close but I honestly believe we have the edge over them.

Then there's OSU. Stated earlier on about a month or so ago I guess. People have got the impression that Akers doesn't want to play up north, and he'd like to stay in the south and play in the ACC(FSU) or SEC. I believe that he likes OSU but he ultimately chooses to stay in the south like it was reported a while back.

That leaves Tennessee and FSU. I firmly believe after analyzing the entire situation that it will be between us and FSU. I could see him choosing Ole Miss due to the fact that he wants to be loyal to the home state school, but I still believe it is between us and FSU. FSU IMO has nothing going against it in its recruitment of Akers. The only thing I give us the edge on is the relationship Akers has with Smith and Gillespie. Relationships play a big role in recruiting decisions nowadays, and I surprisingly believe that relationships ultimately win out. So this is what I think after looking at the entire situation.

Akers will be a vol. I may be dead wrong but I think he will be. We have our issues as well, but we have continuity, and a relationships in our favor. I think Akers will be a vol

Dude. It's simple he was supposed to come to Knoxville a number of times this fall and didn't make it. If you think that isn't worth mentioning and isn't relevant then so be it but I think it's telling. Without a trip this fall we need him to OV before announcing. That's my opinion And if you don't agree that's fine.

Sure, missing those trips is worth mentioning, but so are the numerous unofficial visits he did make that you are convieniently ignoring. He doesn't have to officially visit before announcing. Only difference in an official visit and an unofficial visit is who fits the bill. You know that. Not sure why you're being so closed-minded on the subject.

Akers was here for two or three games this fall. Last one being Bama where he spent all weekend in Knoxville, he was here for Florida game and he was either here for ASU or Ohio as well. What the hell is Bruin blathering about? What a troll.
