'15 WI DT Kahlil McKenzie (UT Signee 2/4/15)

I've never seen a youth football league that didn't have weight limits.

Me either, I was shocked to see this kid on playing. I helped coach defense and all our coaches questioned the commissioner about the kid. He said he was allowed to play but when kids started getting hurt there were other coaches and parents were about to whip is arse so they told the young man he couldn't play any more. I felt bad for the young man and his dad was pissed but he was told it was for the safety of the other kids.

As for Kahlil McKenzie, here's what Steve Stripling told us earlier this week and also shared some insight on the way he structures his meeting room to promote greater learning, peer to peer:

"Kahlil is good, he’s very sharp. I use a system where younger players sit by our older players, because sometimes I think younger players can be tentative to ask tough questions in a meeting setting," Stripling said. "We use a system where if I’m talking up front, a younger player can lean over and ask a question of an older player. Kahlil is very sharp; he’s absorbing things at a fast way. His big thing is learning how to play at this level; he’s a young man who’s played at a couple different high schools and had to sit out last year, so he’s raw. He’s very talented but he’s raw."
