Greg Hughes' (Clarksville, TN) High School Football Stats

Offensive lineman Greg Hughes has earned All-American honors from the California Community College Football Coaches Association for his efforts during the Pirates' 2013 football season. Hughes, a 6-foot-6, 360-pound freshman from Clarksville, Tenn. is the only Pirate to earn all-American distinction this season.

Hughes was one of only four freshmen who were named 1st-team CCCFCA All-Americans last year. I came across his name while researching his teammate Karsmann Johnson, who holds a UT offer. I don't know if we're interested in Hughes or not but with his Tennessee roots, he may be one to watch as we definitely need to add OL in the next class who can contribute right away.

Interesting sidenote: Ventura College had 8 freshmen from Tennessee on their roster last year. Two of their DB starters are from La Vergne, TN and both put up impressive numbers: FS Antonio Cowart (35 tackles, 4 INT, 10 PBU) and CB David Emanuel (49 tackles, 10 PBU).

What's up with Kenwood, Wu?

It's not that bad. Just the worst part of Clarksville, not a great team or coach from what I've seen from them. Obviously I know that does not reflect on the player. I know a lot of people from Kenwood, and very few are high character people lol. Again, I don't know this cat, so it may be different with him. Just a little biased I guess
