Prather had a breakout season in his second year as a Patriot starting linebacker, recording 125 tackles. He also forced six fumbles and recovered three. He had one interception and had one defensive touchdown.
It started in the offseason when I tried to be the best, said Prather, a 6-foot, 220-pound athlete of his improved play. I wanted to work hard because I know my opponent is working hard. But I wanted to work harder than my opponent.
For his achievements, Prather has been named The Daily News Journals 2013 Defensive Player of the Year.

Prather (6-1,220) is a down hill thumper. I love his ability to destroy blocks in the box but he also he also has ability to sniff out screen and bubble screen passes. Kevin is as tough as they come and someone will be getting a really good football player.
