'15 TN DE Kyle Phillips (UT commit 1/3/15)

"We're in on bigger fish."
"He doesn't fit our 3-4."
"He isn't a take."
"He didn't hit it off with Mason."
"He doesn't have a large enough trust fund balance"
"He's not a big enough arrogant ass"
"He hasn't been involved in a gang rape"

Signed,
Delusional Vandy "Fan"

Added a couple or 3 key intangibles for a Vandy recruit

Also retweeted this. Shows the thoughts of Nashville recruits everywhere:
@CoachLo26: @dbc5361 @JakeArnoldVFL @K72_Phillips @JoejuanW not like Vandy has even made recruiting Nashville much of a priority. Haven't seen 1 coach

@Coachlo26 appears to be a Hillsboro High School coach... Dustin Lopez. Looks like he played a little arena ball.

Mason is so Dooley it's not even funny. Though he at least coordinated a great Stanford defense... I think. I'm not even positive Mason knows that Vanderbilt is in Nashville TN.

Rod Dowhower 2.0?

If you don't follow Phillips I suggest you do. Dude is tired of this Vandy fan in his mentions. Dude doesn't know when to shut it. So is his defensive coordinator

Kyle also retweeted Alabama was a sh** hole, Alabama is full of inbreds, and Butch is painting the state orange.

Not sure if he was retweeting the first two because he thought it was funny or true. Or both :)

What's his story? Never heard of him until I wiki'd him... Ha... Or is that your point? He'll win 4 games in two years and disappear? Probably!

Former defensive coordinator who was contrived to be a "guru" by Vandy fans. Turned out to be their version of Dooley.

Let me get this straight. Vandy fans say that he doesn't fit their 3-4. Meanwhile Alabama is after him pretty hard. That just doesn't add up.

The easy cop out is saying he doesn't fit a 3-4. A 4-3 DE is basically the equivalent of a rush LB in a 3-4. My guess is that Bama wants him at 3-4 DE which would mean bulking him up, while Vandy fans have it in their head he couldn't be a great 3-4 OLB. The problem with that is you recruit the best players and move them around. For us take JRM, he was an elite caliber player, but didn't really have a set position. RB/S/OLB. You get him here and deal with it later. For Kyle Vandy should have wanted him as a 3-4 OLB and if he proved to be not athletic enough you move him to 3-4 DE. Simple as that. You take any elite player, especially when they are local. It's their way of coping with missing on a local kid with ties to the university not even slightly interested in their pathetic football program. Kyle is a smart guy, he saw that school for what it is.

Man I'm loving the Mason hire more and more every day

Who wants to play for a contingent of pasty-white, fanny-pack-wearing, mama's boys with an inferiority complex and a hoard of mid-90s sneakers in a stinky closet? Yes this is your Commodore nation.

And Vandy fans claim mason was a better recruiter than Franklin. It's very hard to talk football with them because half of what they say isn't true. One claimed Mason would be great since he was a defensive coordinator. Example against this is Muschamp. Also find it funny since they have won 2 in a row suddenly it's a "rivalry"

With the implosion of their recruiting class after J'Fra bolted, I never heard any of the angst that accompanied our hire of Butch CAN HE RECRUIT IN THE SEC? Seems the question with Mason is the same...without the IN THE SEC part. :yess:
