I could care less what candy fans think. I know K. Phillips would be a great SDE for the Unniversity of Tennessee and would fit our 4-3 great. So with that being said Mr. Phillips if your readin these conversations just come on down to the hill and be a champ!!

but yet Vandy fans think Azubike will be a "great fit" as a 3-4 OLB. The kid is a pure hand in the dirt DE like Jac Smith. Hes not fast. He will be terrible in space. They just dont understand the transition of changing to a 3-4 when you have recruited to a 4-3 forever. Its inevitable to struggle. He hasnt even been present to practice yet and he has to learn a new scheme.

VQ has a new article up. He had really nice things to say about Bama, LSU and Ole Miss.

Here is the TN part.

"They're the home-state school. They are kind of similar to Ole Miss because of the family atmosphere and I have a great relationship with the coaches. I've been to there and Ole Miss the most. They have a young team, too, so I'm looking forward to how they are going to do. They also have a lot of guys from Tennessee that I know and that would be helpful, too, just knowing guys on the same team."

"I know they're not going to be perfect and they are young," Phillips said. "But, I still want to see how things pan out. I know they're young and won't be perfect, but I want to see how they look in two or three years."

Know it's not popular to say this...but if he "evaluates" us too long?...might not have a "decision" to make....TG rule. :unsure:

Few spots and a lot of quality options. Waiting too long could prove to be a bad move. Probably not the same as the TG situation though. Signs point to Phillips being in good standing to all the schools recruiting him. TG? Maybe not so much as schools passed on him.

Face of the program QB vs quality edge rusher?...different parameters for sure...but there's this guy on here?...who talks about numbers?....

Yeah, I'm not sure what's going to happen as for now it looks like there are a lot more kids who fans feel are sure takes and just not enough spots for them. I tend to think the TG situation was different as I just don't think CBJ was going to take TG no matter how many spots he had left. Just too many red flags IMO and CBJ liked what he had already. Phillips looks to be a quality kid who is a take for just about anyone.

IF news coming out is true that Barnett and Hendrix are indeed SDEs at this point, I'd take Richmond, Sapp, and Tuttle with the final 3 spots.

Next up in order for me IF spots opened up would be,

Martin
Amadi
Jefferson
Adkinson

Nice to see that order is being restored to the correct UT-Vandy hierarchy. I think it's both hilarious and bizarre that as the amount D1-talent explodes in Nashville and Middle Tennessee Vandy appears to be not recruiting the area, their own backyard, nearly as hard as Snakehead did. Perhaps they know it's an effort in futility because there's a new sheriff in town. Again, order is being restored by Butch and the boys.
