I'm a new poster on this site but I've been getting most of my UT info from this site since I moved to KY last summer. Finally decided to get off the sideline and join the fun. My question is regarding the recruitment of Gentry, Gibson and Jennings. I'm certainly not a qualified evaluator of talent, but Gentry seems like the best true option at QB imo as he seems to throw the ball so effortlessly and accurately on his video. Do you guys think either Gibson or Jennings would be willing to change positions if coaches tell them their future at QB is not very significant after their "chance" has been given and they feel Gentry emerges as the top choice for QB.

Was joking but okay. I do think he has the potential to be a top 20 starting QB in the NFL but that is mediocre

Not to disagree but what! There are 32 starting jobs in the world. Being top 20 is hardly average regardless of what ur doing. & yes I get ur point I just thought it was worded poorly.

Gentry, in my opinion, has the best potential to step in and play QB at TN. The other two are greatly gifted athletes who would surely make a lot of plays with their feet, but I am not so sure about the passing aspect of the game, especially the downfield deeper routes.

Welcome to the board! IMO I believe Gentry is the best option right now since Gibson has said he will wait until after his season to choose a school. Though our class is filling up, it is not unusual for a QB to commit early on in the process to attract other players. Believe both players are capable to compete but for pure QB skill I like Gentry.

20/32 is average. Anywhere even bench riding in the pros is elite status. I actually used the word mediocre. As far as just starting QBs, there are 4 or so elite guys, 8ish good, and a few other above average starters. After that the dropoff is awful that's why there are multiple first round picks at QB each year. JMO on the subject

I wish Gentry was coming back for the O/W game. Maybe he has seen what he needs to see at this juncture. I believe his Dad will have a big influence on his decision. Butch needs to sell DAD!!!

Also agree with your comments on Gentry.

I will try to play it safe with this answer. If Gentry proved to be THE guy, G/J would have a few options. Work on improving, while being a back up. Switch positions to where they would be best fit. Or transfer to a school where they could play QB. Those are some questions that many players have to ask themselves each year. Safest bet would be to stay a back up. IMO the bet bet would be to switch position. High risk/ High reward option would be the transfer, but personally, I don't think that is the route that I would take.

I thought I had seen somewhere that Gentry had an early leader. Does anyone know which school is mentioned? Vols hopefully!!!

He did name Tennessee his leader after his UOV to campus. Granted, it was his only trip so far. Curious to see what he has to say coming out of his tx visit.

I think they will get their QB in Murray. He is a big time a&m lean. I doubt they enter the Gentry sweepstakes.

Great point LEB!...feel scooped since Allen is right next door...in a condemned brand new $60,000,000.00 stadium...Kyler is lightning in a bottle...and A&M legacy.
