'15 JUCO RB Alvin Kamara (UT commit 6/21/14)

Most ppl think we have no shot... Its July.. Let's see how things look after a few big wins and he is on campus watching his boy Croom in orange..

I agree and still am not willing to write Alvin off just yet. Looking at it from a purely logical standpoint, there is no other school that can offer Kamara an easier path to being the featured running back of the team. UT also has a very experienced line which will be largely intact for at least his freshman year, with a solid group of young linemen coming up as replacements for when we begin losing some of them.

We should continue to have a good passing attack for at least the foreseeable future even after Bray leaves, and that will serve to open up the rushing game and keep opponents from loading up the box against the run. All of these things combine to make it possible for whomever becomes our primary running back to put up good numbers during his time here, which increases his chances of advancing to the next level.

With Pittman and Graham as experienced coaches for the O-line and RBs, and a new commitment by Dooley to the running game, Tennessee is a great option for Kamara and/or any of the other top tier RBs this year, and that is especially true if we have a very successful season as I expect. Logically, Alvin or any of the other elite level backs would be foolish to not give us a close look.

My understanding now is he is all UGA and even told the UA staff if what is floating around is correct. Also that he is visiting CU to habg out with Jenkins. But in short something major would have to happen for him not to end up at UGA. IMO

Interesting, and I agree he's a dawg.

Im ok with this. I want Folston and any of Henry, Green and Tenpenny. Green being my first choice but cant go wrong with any of those 3. Believe Tenpenny remains at Ala just hope we can land one of the other 2.

Folston is USF 's to lose.

I think when Crowell was released from UGA it opened a major door for Kamara and he sees a great opportunity for seeing the field. He could still go elsewhere by NSD, but I think UTs best chance right now is Henry.

Slim chance, but a chance nonetheless

i meant with our chances with Henry....I see Kamara as a bulldog when it's all said and done.

I think the longer he waits UT's chances will increase. We have very few spots left and out sites feel really good about several visitors this month. Including WR R Foster and TE H Henery who both are visiting next week with their families. Besides those 2 and 1 OL not sure what if any other ofeensive players we take unless they commit now. UA is still looking at 5 more defensive positions.

If you look up a previous post from before yesterday, I feel we have a shot even up till signing day. But, when he has not been invited to camp, I wonder where he is on our board. It seems our coaches do alot of their own evaluations and may just like some other guys better. I don't really know. But, if I am a highly sought after RB like AK, I would want to see the recently absent running game does this year. If he really is going to make his mind up before the season, he would not get to see what I expect to be a good running game. He does not make a final decision to NSD which would still give him time to see. But, with that possible timeline and no camp invite, either everyone including the coaches are keeping it quiet of mutual interest or it is just not clicking on both sides. Don't like what I hearing and seeing but it could be smoke and mirrors. I don't really know but I do hope the kid ultimately ends up being happy.

I think I remember AK attending a showcase in ATL at the time we had our first camp this year, could be the reason he hasn't made it to UT yet. I'm just hoping he holds off on committing and gives us a fair shot to show what we can offer him.
