'15 JUCO RB Alvin Kamara (UT commit 6/21/14)

Barring injuries, he will ride the pine for at least two years at either UGA or UA. He's not going to just walk in and bump Yeldon or Gurley.

That is what AU fans said about Yeldon. They kept saying Lacy and Hart would be 1 and 2. But you never know with injuries.

But again every year under Saban a true freshman RB has seen the field. You do not have to bump Yeldon to be successful at UA. We had 2 1000+ yd rushers including 1 true freshman.

Agree, but one of the points is he would be coming in with Penny, Jones, and Henry. So he would have to be better than all of them. Unless you are suggesting they will all see lots of play time.

Yeldon was/is a special talent. I think Kamara is a little overrated and he won't see much time if he goes to Bama.

I think he is a top 5 all purpose type back be he is not as good as Jones or Henry and maybe not Tenpenny as a true premier RB, imo. Like I said in another post, the thing that could possibly get him on the field earlier is his ability to be used in different ways, KR/PR/slot. But with the young players Bama will have on campus at the skill positions it will be very hard to even get on the field early at one of those spots.

I have thought all along that we are more in the mix for Kamara than almost everyone here believes. I still feel that is the case.

It's possible that Kamara has a special skill set that will boost him over the other backs in either program...improbable but possible...the same confidence and star mentality that gets them to the top drives them to compete on the best teams...our coach has to build that mentality and culture in Knoxville before we can have elite players begging to get in line...just the way it is

On whether the door is completely closed to a potential return to the NFL: "I keep saying it but y'all don't believe it, so it doesn't matter if I say it or not. I had a guy at my last press conference ask if the door was closed. How many times do I have to close the door? The damn hinges are worn out."

Of course not Nick. Because you're a liar. Why doesn't the media grow a pair and call him out on it.

Some the posts in this thread... How could anyone blame the kid? Bama Is a machine.

Bama: 2 straight NCs.

UT: 2 straight 5-7's.

Seen this coming!!!!! Time I move on from Mr. Kamara. Good luck young man. I hope you get everything you are looking for.

He has 3 crystal balls in the last five years we have one dusty one from 98. We spend alot of time cracking on a Guy that's laughing all the way to the bank and history. We have become some pretty petty fans.

You're right, we should all kiss his ass and pay hommage to a rival team. While we are at it, we should let the Bama fans who have been strong supporters of the program since Saban arrived run it down our throats too. I agree that surrendering is the best option here. We should supress any memories we have had over the years of Tennessee's once proud program and tell these newly discovered Bama fans how we envy them and wish we were them.

Or we could tell them and any spineless UT fan who believes that kind of garbage to go kick rocks.

So what do you propose we do about it?

Amen. I am sick of all the Bama love.

Why so quick to defend Sabans honor? Enough water heads in this country do that plenty. We know how many trophies he has. Don't need a reminder every 3 posts.

I really would love for this to be a place where we just write off Alabama, and there not be some ultra eager realist who is trying to host sportscenter when he grows up jumping on everyone's back reminding them of all of the Tide's recent triumphs. Can't this be the one place where it's safe to just ignore their success? We can just close our eyes, follow the Vols, try to take them down once a year, make fun of them even when it doesn't really add up, and eventually Saban will move on and they'll come back down to earth... or the rest of the conference will catch up to him. That's the board I want to someday live in.... I mean write in.

We get enough Bama apologists other places. It doesn't belong here. Back off.

Go Vols
