You sure of that??

I don't know for sure but my guess is since we are under 25 he wouldn't count unless he enrolls in school.

Did the kid at florida we got count against their number last year?

Yes...the 25 limit relates to signees

How did florida sign 23(including the kid that ended up in Knoxville) in 2012 and then sign 28 this year????

Looks like to me he didn't count against their number.

Not meaning to be argumentative here just making sure the rule.

“If a player signs, he counts without regard to whether or not he actually enrolls,” SEC spokesman Charles Bloom said in an e-mail Monday. “ ‘Back counting’ is only permitted for mid-year enrollees who are able to be included as an initial counter for the academic year in which they enroll. ‘Back counting’ is an artificial term for this discussion and not accurate as the question is about the signing limit.”

So essentially under the old rules, what mattered most was who actually enrolled. But the SEC’s new rules are directed at who signs.

Very nice. That clears it up. Still don't understand how florida was able to sign 3 extra this year when they signed 23 last year.

Once they sign or enroll??

If they sign, they count. UF probably back-counted some the year they signed 23 and were able to back-count at least 3 this year. So Omari Phillips counted against UF and UT is my understanding.

Thanks. It's certainly confusing.

I would hate to be an unsuspecting RB going through a hole only to meet that monster. Good god almighty.

Please let him qualify.

He almost has to be playing against terrible competition, doesn't he? Nobody can look like that and float under the radar like he is. He looks like Haloti Ngata playing against Knoxville high school teams.

He is floating under the radar because of his grades, and lack of camps.

I know why he's supposed to be under the radar. But look at the video. Unless he's playing against eighth graders, I don't understand why every college coach that's ever seen him play hasn't gone shrieking out of the stadium with his hair on fire. This guy goes wherever he wants on the field as though the other team's players are ghosts. He just runs through them. There should be 30 college coaches camped out the morning he takes his ACT.

Maybe the grades scared them off. He isn't playing against the deaf and blind schools of South Carolina. He plays decent competition.

Honestly the way he is dominating has an eerie resemblance to Chris Donald's film from high school...

I played against Chris Donald in high school. Never understood how on God's green earth he was a five star. He was so soft and you could push him around on both sides of the ball. He had a few plays a game on breakdowns mentally and those were his highlights.

Instead, petition the ncaa to take the 3 ACT scores from Jones, Jabo Lee and Dobbs. Take the average and all three have qualifying scores :)
