Prepare to be proven wrong. 2019 will see the rise of the following players in the NFL: Josh Dobbs, John Kelly, Jalen Hurd, and Cam Sutton. Also look for Nigel Warrior, Marquez Callaway, Daniel Bituli, Darrell Taylor, and Darrin Kirkland Jr. to develop into high NFL draft picks after we surprise everyone in college football next season and make a New Year's Day bowl game.

Ultimately the 2016 Vols will produce 8 Pro-Bowl/All-Pro caliber NFL players (Alvin Kamara, Josh Dobbs, Jalen Hurd, John Kelly, Cam Sutton, Nigel Warrior, Marquez Callaway, and Daniel Bituli). I would say that makes them a mighty talented team.
And the truly all-time great teams like that 2001 Miami team have close to 8 on one side of the ball.

Maybe.

All I'm saying is the 2016 Vols will be talked about in a similar way after our players start dominating in the NFL. In particular at the glamour positions.

QB Josh Dobbs
RB Alvin Kamara
RB John Kelly
WR Jalen Hurd

These guys will be so dominant that people will talk about how they all played together in college but yet never won more than 9 games. Butch Jones legacy will only get worse with time.

Kamara agreed. I actually kind of agree on Kelly. I think he was a steal. Dobbs seems to be a great guy and super smart but I don’t see his game translating well to the NFL on a consistent basis. I’m not sold on Hurd either but we shall see. He had a good year against non-existent Big 12 defenses. Playing WR for Baylor and WR for any NFL team are vastly different.

If my math is correct, Alvin is currently on pace for 1,100 rushing yards, 1,300 receiving yards, and 24 total TDs. Those would definitely be MVP caliber numbers. Which is what I predicted in this thread.

Will you ever learn to stop setting your expectations so comically high?

I really do believe this is possible...just not sure it's probable...Progression of skill isn't linear, but, in a UT vacuum for the past 10 years it has been. That Dooley bamboo never sprouted. Maybe one day. BVS
I think the bricks crushed the bamboo before it could sprout.
