DARRELL WILLIAMS LB, 6-3/195, HOOVER, ALA.
VISIT RECAP: The Hoover High School linebacker had already had offers from Florida State and Mississippi State before camping at Knoxville but add his third offer after a standout performance. Williams is a rangy linebacker and with the Vols' needs at the position over the next few years Williams could be someone to watch moving forward.

QUOTABLE: "Coach Thigpen was saying when we were working on drills and one-on-ones that he liked the way I played. I was surprised because I wasn't expecting to get an offer. They have a really nice campus and they're still working on it so it will probably be even better. I was excited about it and Tennessee's a good school."

Never trust a Hoover prospect. Most if not all are overhyped and never do a thing in college. Last good one was Chad Jackson(2003 class) and big boy Chapman. The others like Murphy and others have been flops.

1. LB DARRELL WILLIAMS, HOOVER, ALA. (2015)
Williams wasn't the biggest name at linebacker heading into the event, but he came out with the best performance and arguably the most upside of the 2015 prospects. He is long, he is explosive and quick to close and he has a great motor. He took as many reps as any other linebacker and never seemed to wear down in the heat. He has a chance to be special and should see an avalanche of offers sooner than later.

"I went to Tennessee for the camp and they offered. That felt real good," said Williams. "I talked to the head coach Butch Jones one-on-one and that's when he offered. Then I spoke to the linebackers coach Tommy Thigpen, too. I got to talk to all of the coaches. It felt official."
