This is my favorite part. Living outside of the south, I get so much flack for referring to Tennessee as UT and Texas as Texas.

And USC refers to the Univerity of Southern California.
Not South Carolina. Hate all that "USCe" crap. They are merely South Carolina.

"It was a very tough decision. I talked to my family and felt like I wasn't being honest with myself and I was trying to please people around me by being a Longhorn," Gresham said.

The 5-10, 231-pound Gresham said he's now considering Florida State, Louisville, Alabama, Tennessee, Miami and Ole Miss.

In a text message exchange with Orangebloods.com on Saturday morning, Gresham stressed that his decision to formally decommit was not something he took lightly and he wanted to be respectful of the Texas coaches in announcing the news.

"I thank them for everything but UT isn't the place for me," Gresham said.

Seems he wanted to take some other visits and Brown said No. I don't have a problem with that. IMO if a kid wants to commit early, he should be 100% sure that is where he wants to go. If he is taking visits, he is not committed. I think a kid should take his visits if he wants to do so. He should also not commit anywhere if he wants to enjoy the visit process until he has seen what he needs to see. I would like to see CBJ do the same thing. If you commit early, your telling the coaches you don't want to take other visits and your 100% Vol.

"Tennessee has been recruiting Gresham for a long time, even since last summer."

If they were looking for a different type of RB for specialty situations, this kid would be it. Along the same lines as a Sedrick Palmer being a big stocky RB to get the tough yards. This kid runs like a train headed down the tracks. I think he could do some damage in the SEC.

Want. Big bruiser that causes pain to defenders. This guy would really be important in short yardage situations, blocking and an occasional flat pass or wheel route.

Would he be a true full back or more of a hybrid full back/TightEnd like Justin King this year and Ben Bartholomew last year. Either way I say take him. I love it when we can go into Texas and pull players.

Listed as 5'10". Not really TE height.
FB absolutely.

Will this offense feature a FB in many sets? Can't say I watched much Bearcat football in the last few years but I was under the impression that they mostly ran 1-back sets

I don't think we will use a FB a lot which is why King is playing TE, along with the fact he's going to be a beast there. This guy would be a perfect goal line back. Worse comes to worse we move him to LB.

Coaches have said they will adjust their scheme/play selection to highlight the players skillset. I am sure that would include a lead blocking FB if a great one is available.
Bet he does well picking up blitzing players as well. 5'10" 230 lbs is a move the pile type FB/RB too.

Just watched his film...perfect 3rd RB to go with Hurd/Paulk...

Shawn Bryson was a FB on the 1998 team. 6'1" 228. Faster than this guy, but FB right up the middle through the gigantic hole made by Stone, Fulton and Jackson all day with short yardage that sometimes is a big gain with a broken tackle or two :) (edit: except Stone and Fulton will not be here then, but you get my point)

Teach him how to catch the ball and he'd be a great 3rd down back.

3rd RB not really 3rd and passing situation...that would be Hurd or Paulk more likely. This guy will truck a wouldbe tackler for that needed 1-3 yard gain. :hi: jmo

3rd down pass blocker. He would be great at blocking a blitz.

From ESPN.

Gresham on Monday announced his top six via social media. The 5-foot-10, 236-pound back said, in alphabetical order, that Alabama, Arkansas, Florida State, Miami (Fla.), Missouri and Ole Miss all made the cut. When asked how difficult it was to narrow the list from the 13 previous offers, Gresham simply responded, “Extremely.”

I think we have lowered him on the board with the emergence of Akeem Judd.
