“I also like Washington, Oregon, California, Tennessee and Vanderbilt,” Plattenburg said. “I camped with Washington and have a great relationship with Coach Heyward and the rest of the staff. They’re coming at me hard and have been very aggressive throughout this process.

“Tennessee is a school I’ve always been intrigued with and I don’t know what it is, but there is just something about Vandy that has me really interested. I definitely plan to take official visits to both schools. I’m going to make an early commitment but I still plan to do all five of my official visits so I’m going to play the process out a little more.”

Has TN offered? I don't see TN as an interest to him or offer from TN on any sites.

We are interested in him. He was one of the top DB prospects in CA before his family moved to TX. I think he got lost in the shuffle as far as a player because TX is a state loaded year after year.

Secondly, and most importantly is, he is good friends with Adoree Jackson and they chat on twitter a good bit. I think his interest in UT peaked after talking with Adoree from my impressions on a couple of short convo's they had between each other.

"Late June I talked to coach Martinez and he told me they were interested in me and they wanted to build a relationship with me so ever since then we've kept in contact and he's gotten to know me more," Plattenburg said. "I ended up coming back to Texas and my old high school from California and my offer letters started coming in and my Tennessee offer was in there and I gave them a call and it was cool because they didn't tell me but I saw the letter so it was a surprise."

The offer now has Plattenburg thinking more serious about Tennessee as well.

"I'm still thinking about taking a visit up there and seeing what they have to offer because I've heard it's nice and I'd like to get a chance to see what it's like up there and see what it's all about," Plattenburg said.

"I can say a lot of it is about atmosphere," Plattenubrg said as to why he's interested in the Vols. "I saw the coaches come and leave and I've seen coach Jones come in and it's not really about the coaches. The school, the fan base, are really behind the program and they weren't really discouraged. They have a lot of talent they're just trying to find all the coaches to guide them in the right direction so they can take that next step. To me, that says a lot about the school, not just the football team, and it seems like a caring atmosphere, the ups and the downs."

Said he might take an OV to Oregon when they play UT.
