I'm really hoping North has a season like Amari Cooper did at Bama last year (1,000 yards receiving and 11 touchdowns). For whatever reason, it seems that Cooper was overshadowed by the rest of the team but that is an incredible freshman year and Cooper and North were similarly ranked.

I agree with you here....I think North can really put up some big numbers.

Agreed. When you have a world class RB and OL it can free up a talented young WR to not feel pressured. That's why I was hoping we took Dyer. JMO

I'm very comfortable with our current RB's. lane reminds me so much of foster and hardesty when they were at ut. He may not be dyer or yeldon, but he doesn't need to be. I think we will have one of the top running games in the SEC this year. ESP with that o line

From what I hear, Marlin is seriously turning the corner and the team is raving about him looking like he could seriously be one of the better backs in the SEC this year... But are kinda keeping quiet about it, as kind of a surprise factor for him to come out of nowhere and shock everybody.

I hope you are right. I'm really tired of "serviceable" RB's. We need one to bust out like Travis Stephens did.

I remember Doo...wait, I mean He Who Must Not Be Named, was hampering Neal on holding on to the rock last year. Has he gotten better? Because we don't need a fumble late in the 4th quarter.

Are we still trying to get Malone or is it a dead issue ?????

I think the staff would take him if he wanted on board sooner rather than later. Longer it plays out, the less I think we push to get him. If we miss on Blair, Jackson, and Garrett closer to NSD, there may be room to take him. He is no way a priority IMO.

summary:

-plans to enroll early.
-decision before December
-visits not set up
-going to Vandy v Ole Miss as unofficial
-teams in the mix: Tennessee, Georgia, Florida State, Clemson, Florida, UCLA, Vanderbilt and Louisville

From Buck. Our staff is recruiting him hard and I hope we land him come December. Pairing with North would be an issue for opposing defenses.

"I hate to post on Malone, but I think this can be helpful. I like where UT is positioned. To be honest, what has hurt UT thus far with Malone more than anything is chatboard stuff. For some reason Malone and his mother have come under attack from a vocal minority of Vol fans. For the record it wasn't this board(thank God they don't read this board). Josh like many other recruits and their families pay attention to the boards. Also rival coaches send them screen shots of negative post on boards. UT has as good a chance as any school right now. The coaches don't need to deal with any more hard feelings from Malone or his parents. There is probably nothing that can be done about it but I at least want to get this info out there."
