Well the good thing is it is a long time until signing day 2014. There is plenty of time for CBJ to make an impression on Hurd both on and off the field. Too bad he has a handler as they seem to force their views on the kids rather than letting them make their own mind up. More often than not anyway.

Carlos said on VQ that we have a good chance because it's very early and he isn't in a hurry. Hopefully we can show him how important he is to the program in the next year.

I would love to get this kid I am tired of watching the top players in the state go to other schools. Damn you Dooley.

Hurd has a handler? Who is his handler?

Coming from someone who knows this kid and his family very well, I can assure you that no one (and I mean NO ONE) is influencing this young man but perhaps family.

Oh, and his graduates next fall. So, he will already be in college when signing day rolls around. So if you think CBJ has all the time in the world, think again.

I do not know JH but my Mom is friends with his Grandmother and I know several members of the staff at BHS (including my wife) and this is the only place I've heard anything about a handler. I'm not saying that I know anything 100% but knowing what I do know. I doubt he has a handler.

Well, I can guarantee you that you have been extremely misinformed. The only person that will decide where Jalen Hurd will go to college is Jalen Hurd.

And yes, he will be an EE.

As I said two months ago. Jalen is not in a hurry here guys, his 'leaders' are only there to satisfy the Rivals, etc. He is nowhere close to making up his mind. We have time, and in the end, I think we land him. Remember, he grew up a UT fan, but so did Vonn Bell. The only difference, I think, is Butch isn't going to slip here the way Dooley did with Bell.

And yes, he will be an EE if I had to guess. I don't expect Sumner County to have any issue with him graduating early.

From the people I have talked to Hurd stays away from handlers. His parents are very smart and are staying away from anyone or anything that could raise a flag.

Oh great another close member posting in board that has reading comprehension issues which lead to running mouth to family. This won't end well. He will sign a rival I'm sure because they will stalk this site and take two comments and blow them out of proportion while 99 percent of vol fans are praying he signs with Tn and will tell you he is a stud

Apologies for reading through hurriedly. Although, it wasn't the easiest post to read.

CBJ did contact the school recently, and made the comment that "they'll do whatever they have to do to get Hurd". Other schools are already promising a starting position as a freshman, so I don't really know what more CBJ can offer.

By "other schools" I assume you mostly mean James Franklin? I am sure that scumbag would promise anything to sign a recruit like JH. Screw Franklin and Urban Meyer. Guys like them will say anything.

It was somewhat of a run on sentence. Then again, ericberry4heisman could read it. Anyways....No harm done. :thumbsup:

Like I said, I don't know JH personally but I do hear stuff through the H'ville grapevine (teachers, coaches, friends of family). It sounds like we're way behind and really need to do whatever we can to get back in it. I'm just glad we have another whole year to work on him. I would LOVE it to see a hometown kid pounding the rock for the Vols someday!

Havent heard anything like that from Franklin... just OSU and FL.
