"Tennessee contacted me and said they wanted the link to my highlight tape and that they're going to get it evaluated," Humphreys said. "They have some more interest in me now."

The Volunteers have not offered yet but their involvement is definitely encouraging to Humphreys, who first leaned toward staying closer to home for college but has now expanded his thoughts and will look at all options.

Still, before the four-star defensive end from Portland (Ore.) Central Catholic gets too excited about Tennessee he would like to take a trip to Knoxville to see if it would be the right situation for him.

"I'm not sure about the SEC but I'd definitely love to get out there and visit," Humphreys said.

"Humphreys, one of the MVPs at the Rivals Camp in Los Angeles, said he definitely wants to visit Wisconsin and Tennessee along with UCLA. He could take another trip to USC and he said Oregon State and Cal remain under serious consideration for visits, too.

The trips outside the Pac-12 could be crucial since Humphreys has never been to either state and he wants to get a much better feel for Tennessee and Wisconsin especially since both programs have new coaching staffs.

"I've never been to either of those states so I just want to check it out and see how the city is and see how everyone likes the program," Humphreys said.

"I'd like to talk to some of the players and see how they like the coaches because they're both new coaches at both of those programs. I want to meet all of those coaches."

Humphreys has a nice blend of power and speed from the defensive end position. He has developed well physically and has nearly zero percent body fat. He's fast enough to get to the edge and blitz that way, or he can bull-rush offensive linemen and be successful there, too. At the Los Angeles RCS, Humphreys was basically unstoppable during one-on-ones."

“I would say the schools that stick out the most right now are UCLA, Wisconsin, Southern California and Tennessee,” Humphreys said. “There are other schools I like as well, but those four are the ones that come to mind.

"They have all done a great job recruiting me and when you look at them they are all schools that have pretty good reputations.”

“In the next month I’m going to take some visits,” Humphrey said. “I would like to get out and check as many places as possible and then come up with some schools that I want to go on official visits to. Ideally, I will decide in September or October.”

"Wisconsin and Tennessee are two of the schools recruiting me the hardest," said Humphreys.

Humphreys said he's not narrowing his list at all.

"I don't have a top five, I'm still open to everyone," said Humphreys.

Forgot to put this here from last week on VQ...

four-star defensive end Connor Humphreys is scheduled to be in Tennessee on June 21 as he'll be vacationing in Florida but will make his way to Knoxville before heading back to the West Coast. He's very interested in seeing what Tennessee has to offer.

Wants to commit around Oct, Nov after taking his officials. Is very wide open. Has zero contact from Oregon and seems slighted by that. Will go on a tour of visits this summer

Oregon is screwing the pooch on this one. A Top 100 DL in their backyard and they aren't even in contact with him? Good way to sour the fanbase on you quickly if you're Helfrich.
