Decommitted from Northwestern. Top 3 of Wisconsin, Tennessee, and Vanderbilt.

If WI is his only offer of the 3, seems like there is a good chance he ends up in Madison.

"Four-star 2014 ATH to keep an eye on

Four-star Galion, Ohio ATH Dariean Watkins has stepped away from his commitment to Northwestern today. His dad tells me the teams that could be in play now are Wisconsin, Vanderbilt and Tennessee. Wisconsin is the team to beat right now, no doubt, but will be interesting to see if he does take a visit to Knoxville or how hard Tennessee pursues here. He did have a great season and his stock is on the rise. Could play WR, safety or even linebacker at the next level."

Love the idea of kids his size possibly being our future linebackers. Bulk him up a little in the weight room and have speed that can cover a rb over the middle or be able to stop a mobile qb sideline to sideline without being 2 steps behind.

I liked what I saw from this kid's film. Looks like he could step in a lot of places. Maybe even QB? We're probably looking at him on defense though.

From a national Recruiting site -

Barring an unexpected turn of events, Wisconsin is poised to add four-star Galion, Ohio, athlete Dareian Watkins to its commitment list, and it could happen as soon as this weekend when the 6-foot-1, 204-pound prospect makes his official visit to Madison.

The Badgers have a huge lead for Watkins, according to his father, following last week's de-commitment from Northwestern. A visit to Wisconsin earlier this month revealed to Watkins that he had made his decision too early, and in a subsequent conversation with Wildcats head coach Pat Fitzgerald the two parties agreed it was best to go their separate ways amicably.

Watkins has had conversations with Vanderbilt and Tennessee in recent weeks, and both schools have piqued a degree of interest in the four-star athlete; but trips to those schools would happen only if he emerges from Madison this weekend uncommitted, and the prospect of that happening appears slim.
