'14 NC PG JaQuel Richmond

I just asked, not doing much with Richmond right now, more involved with PG Dequon Miller who I know BTO likes! Also wants Chiles. I didn't follow up with Serge's brother question. I just let that go.

Yea but we are looking for guys that can play this year.

Talking to miller as in he might be a part of this class?

Miller is 2015

Unless Miller has actually signed something committing him to 2015 at Motlow, I can see this being a win/win for Tennessee and Miller. Unlike a few weeks ago, there aren't two other PGs on the Tennessee roster. Plus, this staff doesn't appear to have a problem with shorter PGs. I can imagine a scenario where Tennessee pushes and Miller would listen.

My understanding is that if you go JUCO you must stay for the entire two years. He is not available until 2015

You were being an azzwipe.

You said that you understood Richmond would be Vol under whatever circumstances, then offered no source. That's a bold claim, and it should be common sense to cite your information. Even if you just heard it from a friend, it still gives you credibility to say that's where you heard it.

And people misinterpret other's posts all the time here on VN. BTO was just asking what you meant by "I understand." Heck, I've corrected BTO at least a couple times when he's misinterpreted posts in the same fashion. And I've done it plenty of times too.

Reading some comments from a couple of other UT boards and twitter accounts.

I think that is the case IF you go to JUCO as a D1 non-qualifier. I am pretty sure Miller was fully qualified out of high school and just went JUCO to try to get D1 offers. Therefore he had (maybe still has) the option of leaving after one year.

He's playing for motlow this year

I live about a 15 minute drive away from Motlow, and I have watched Dequon a few teams. The guy is a legit shooter and fast as heck. However, I'm a little worried about his size, he's pretty tiny and I just feels if it will be tough for him to get shots off when bigger guys are guarding him, I mean there are big guys in JUCO that he pays against but he can blow right by a lot of them. But in terms of pure athleticism and speed, you won't find many better than Dequon Miller.

I also keep in contact with a few ball players on the Motlow squad and they're saying Dequon has built a pretty strong relationship with AK at Ole Miss, hope Tyndall can wrestle him away from the Rebs.

That's true if you go juco because you couldn't qualify for d1 out of HS, that's not the case with miller.

Do you know if he signed an LOI with any School, that would also be a requirement he would have to stay for 2 years.

Also, this mentions the NCAA clearinghouse in this article and he isn't going anywhere until 2015 so it seems.

"We both thought this would be his only year with us but the NCAA has not cleared him for eligibility at this time," said Sligh.

No he hadn't signed with anyone coming out of HS

Evidently he did not qualify for D1 or if he did the NCAA has taken more than a year to figure it out. I do like his attitude about this seems like an intelligent mature decision to stay and play another year.
