“(I plan on attending) a lot of summer camps and doing a lot of traveling over the summer,” he said.

“I don’t want to single anybody out, but I would love to go out to California, see UCLA, travel to see Tennessee, see LSU, schools like that. I just want to get out there a little bit and see what else is out there.”

The 2014 standout finished his junior season with 13 sacks, 60 tackles (21 for loss) and three forced fumbles. He felt great about his season but continues to strive for growth.

“I feel like I can always get better, I never settle for what I do on the field. This is my first year being out there and getting a lot of good playing time. I’m really grateful for that and I don’t want to stop I want to compete and get better,” he said.

“I’m working on staying low, techniques, and just the basic fundamentals of football. I’ve got the speed, I have the strength, I just need to become more of a student of the game.”

Yes we need all the big, fast, and hard hitting LBs UT can get. I thought we needed 5 or 6 LBs last year.

"“Right now, Clemson, UCLA, Tennessee, Florida and Georgia Tech,” Yeargin said were his top schools. “It’s subject to change, but as of right now that’s what I’m going with.”"

He hopes to increase his frame to around 6-foot-5, 250-pounds, by the time he leaves for college, but in the meantime, Yeargin knows that he want to find a place that meets his educational and athletic goals. He plans to major in business.

"Education first then team spirit and who's backing you up," he said. "Then what the program is all about and a good winning football tradition and a good development to make me an elite player in college and to go onto the pros."

Yeargin did play basketball and run track during his first two years of high school but has since left both in the past to focus all of his efforts on training and preparing for football. Yeargin recently competed in the Under Armour combine and hopes to play in the Under Armour All-American game next January.

If he gets that big before college I can see him at DE like Phat-Phil suggested.

What he wants and what a college coach sees, and wants him at weight-wise are different things. He's plenty big enough now, at 6'4 220-225ish.

Some recent Bama LBs have been close to 250. Just saying as long as he's quick enough he could still be a LB..

They were playing JACK and they tend to be bigger. 250 lbs is really big for a college LB in a 4-3. For that matter its pretty big for an NFL 4-3.

Bama plays more of a multiple front, and the backer I was specifically referencing (Hightower) played as an MLB/ILB

LB Yeargin III talks early favorites - Florida Gators Blog - ESPN

ESPN insider article about early favorites if someone wants to summarize for us

I got you brotha hah

"Florida, Florida State, Clemson, UCLA and Tennessee are standing out right now," Yeargin said at the New Level Athletics 7-on-7 Southeast regional tournament.

Tennessee, I guess you could say, they put a lot of players in the NFL and that kind of attracts me."

Yeargin said there are specific factors he is looking for in each school.

"When I choose a program first of all I’m looking at education, then football tradition, and then stability," he said. "Like how good is the program, what are they known for and what can they do for me?"

Yeargin has no plans to visit schools for any upcoming junior days, but he said he will visit Florida for its spring game in April.

He said he will likely make his college announcement on signing day.

so we lead? sweet!
No. If you listen to the interview the guy asks, what do you like about UCLA and Tennessee. He then said UCLA.... And then he said "Tennessee, I guess you could say, they put a lot of players in the NFL and that kind of attracts me."

Unfortunately it sounds like UF leads.
