Coach G just followed him on twitter. Tweeted out Rocky Top yesterday. I think we visited him, not sure if we offered. Committed to Texas currently

Interesting. Especially the timing. Thinking Lambert, not Mack.

Doubt it has anything to do with lambert and more to do with us going down TX commit list seeing if we like anyone

True, but how many great DT's does Louisiana produce every year? LSU can't take all of them. And how many kids does Texas take from out of state every year? 4 or 5? And as of now he's one of them. That speaks pretty highly in my opinion.

Agree. Mack brown himself said they have no reason to recruit out of state and if they do its someone they feel is very special

Potentially stealing a recruit from Texas, who has a class riddled with three stars that texas a&am doesn't want just isn't that impressive in my opinion seems like a Back up plan to the back up plan with us showing interest this late. Hopefully you're right and we get him

From Rivals:

"It doesn't affect me. As long as coach (Bo) Davis remains there I will be a Longhorn," said New Orleans St. Augustine defensive tackle commitment Courtney Garnett.

Actually, LSU has only signed one D-lineman from Louisiana since 2011 ie Patterson DE. However, I would agree La. has better talent than in 2012 and 2013 on the DL.

My run down of the DL in the state. Willis/Godchaux could possible play DE or DT.

Gerald Willis (definite take)
Davon Godchaux (currently committed to LSU)
Garrald McDowell (size might be a problem for this one)
OJ Smith (fat run stuffer, Bama bound)

This is not how recruiting in Texas typically works.

He's looking for a new home cause CMB is out and his staff more than likely won't be retained. He's loyal to their RB coach. Gotta get the visit though.
