Down at Nassau College, Lance McDowdell had a sensational freshman campaign when he registered 34 tackles with five tackles-for-loss with the Lions. At 6-foot-4 and 300 pounds, he has a great frame and is athletic enough to play on the outside as a strongside end, which says something given his massive frame. Once the scouts find their way to Nassau, he won't go offer-less very long as his video says D1 player all the way.

Great - I like the strategy. Offer a bunch of DTs (Mosely, Elam, McDowell) that Bama is pursuing and get in their top 2. We're bound to land at least one of them. Bama can't take them all.

A combination of Lambert, Heurtelou, and this guy would certainly go a long way in helping the 2015/16 campaigns.

Yes, Tennessee is after him hard and he's not the only juco defensive lineman they are after. We'll have a story later this evening on Calvin Heurtelou. He's supposed to come in for the Auburn game for an official visit. I think he and Lambert are probably the top two, and then McDowell and some others are in the next group

We'll have a couple of more juco names in the War Room as well to pay attention to. Yes, I think Tennessee wants to take two junior college defensive linemen if they can.

Sorry on the no profile, trying to get in touch with him to set it up.

With this new offer and what Pfort said about taking multiple JUCO DL, it's starting to make sense as to why they passed on some HS DT's. They want guys who can play immediately. Maybe they do understand the need for DL?

This makes sense.

Appreciate the thread, Ron. Seems like everybody was losing their minds because the majority of the DT's this forum had been paying attention to were going elsewhere.

If they like some of the young guys we got last year and just think they need some time might make sense to go mainly juco this year and then go hard at high schoolers again in 2015

And I was afraid they weren't going to listen to me.

Critical that we get 2 guys who can play immediately.
