Polls don't matter till the end of the year. IF and a huge IF, Tennessee keeps winning the polls will take care of themselves

We will need some help from other teams but as Butch would tell you..."we are right were we thought we were."

I love it when a plan comes together.

There's always this statement but they come into ranking thread to say it.

I like the polls, great for water cooler talk but i try not to concern myself with who dropped and who jumped. In my opinion Louisville is the #1 team in the country followed by Bama, Ohio State and Houston. I think right now Clemson is the most overrated team in the country followed by Georgia and Tennessee.

This is fiction. The polls guide the national conversation. The CFP Committee is part of that conversation; they both contribute to it and are influenced by it.

No, the AP and Coaches' polls don't pick the playoff teams, but they certainly contribute indirectly to how those teams are chosen. In a far bigger way than any other single "voice."

That's funny, because I see Louisville as the most overrated team in this week's poll. A knee-jerk response by the pollsters, so to speak.

Sure, they had a great week against FSU. Blew them out even. That doesn't mean they should be in the same conversation as the top five.

Think we'll see them exposed in the next few weeks.

Wait what? They've out scored their three opponents 169-62. They've by far been one of the top five teams this season.

They scored more on FSU, a team loaded with future NFL talent than Clemson did on S, Carolina St. That team is for real and they have a QB who would start anywhere in the country not named Clemson.

Had that been Bama or Ohio State that did that to FSU they might have been a unanimous #1.

They only matter to the brain trust on VN when we go down. When we were 9 they said "polls don't matter". We fell and they said "see, we suck. We dropped in the polls". It works either way for them.
