Sykes, himself, plans to participate in camps at Notre Dame, Tennessee and Vanderbilt this summer. He feels there's a good chance of securing a Vandy offer during his trip to Nashville.

“Tennessee came to my school to visit me last week,” Sykes told InsideTennessee.com. “They gave me the camp dates and I am definitely going to go down there and try to earn an offer. They want to see me play linebacker because there just isn’t any film on me.”

“I just have to show them that I can move well and play linebacker,” he said. “This season they are saying that is the main thing they want to see. During camps this summer I just have to make sure I learn the position really well. They just haven’t seen film on me that is why they haven’t offered I think.”

“That would just be huge for me,” he said. “Any offer is a blessing, but I would be honored to earn an offer. It would really show me that I have what it takes. That would be great.”

“I know the have one of the most winning programs in all of college football,” he said. “I know it is beautiful down there too. I saw the video tour of the new football facility and it just looks like nothing I have ever seen. I am really eager to get down there and see everything.”

“I have really quick feet for a big player,” Sykes said. “I have quick hands, I’m fast, powerful and I have a nose for the football. I am pretty good at taking the right angles and knowing where the ball is. I have pretty good football instincts.”

"Tennessee is staying in contact with me," the 6-1, 220 pound Sykes said. "They said I helped myself by coming down there and working out. They had already seen my tape and liked it but wanted to see me work in person. Coach Jones told me that they were close to offering."

"I loved it," Sykes said. "I loved the atmosphere and really loved the stadium. Everyone had said they had nice facilities and I had seen them on line, but I was surprised by how nice they were. It's an impressive place."

"Tennessee is just a school I kept hearing about. I like the new coaching staff and after researching them by looking at things on line from articles to videos I knew I wanted to see them so my dad and I drove down to see them."
