Does he have interest in UT?

Yes, but it won't be easy to get him on campus. Has already taken two visits, has two more scheduled to Louisville and Kentucky and the Vols will be fighting Miami and UCLA for the last visit. We'll have a story up here in the next half hour.

Interesting

That it is.

Was committed to uf. The day after he decommitted, he named ul his leader and had not visited them. Not sure what to make of offering him with where we are unless the staff may think we have an OL commit looking at options.

Or we are for sure looking to take another OT.

Here be the deal is: he was a commit to Florida at one point and then decided that he wanted to go somewhere that is not Florida.

DeLand lineman Benjamin Knox said he won't 'sweat' his decommitment from Gators - Orlando Sentinel

He’s no longer interested in UF, so maybe revenge factor will help? Took trips to South Florida and NC State already, and now is hearing from the big boys again. Hopefully he knows UCLA took 7 OL last year and Kentucky is...well...Kentucky.

fla had no contact for over a month before he "decommited". Big boys? my lol

"They called me after my South Florida visit and they were saying they were going to keep on calling me and want me to come up there for a visit," Knox said. "But before, my cousin Marlin Lane was telling me that they liked my film and all of that."

On Mahoney:

"He told me he's going to keep calling me and that he's going to keep telling me about the program with the dead period starting," Knox said.

"I'm going to give them a chance because it's the SEC and I feel like I can go in there and play early," Knox explained. "They are an SEC program and they need players who can play up front because they are losing a lot."

Knox has talked to Lane about Tennessee several times and the Vol running back who has amassed 1,472 rushing yards has had nothing but good things to say about Rocky Top. "He's just told me that the coaches love me and that I should think about going up there," Knox said. "He told me I should go up there and play because he's going to be there for another year and he will be there to look out for me."

Agreed but we are cherry picking the very best options here at the end. He doesn't fit that IMO

I think OL is the position where you most try and determine potential and whether you can develop a kid. He may not be highly rated, but might have a lot of potential. The offer could also be an indication where we stand with Bookster.

Marlin can keep talking to him during the dead period also. If we want him we will be able to have a voice for the extra 3 or 4 weeks.

I like that Marlin Lane has good things to say to him a out Tennessee. I was mildly curious if Lane might check out after Neal graduated. We need him next year.

If Marlin's smart, he'll try to duplicate what Raijon did this season and hopefully make himself some money.

I see this kid as a guard. Not sure how pass blocking will be, but I like his explosion as interior guy to run block.

Not great feet, but you can do that at guard.

I haven't watched his film, but I doubt we want any more guards unless the talks of Coleman Thomas playing RT actually happen

Huh, hadn't heard that. Thought he was a surefire center?
There's been chatter but nothing too solid. He can play C/G/RT IMO. I think it was from an article that said he would compete for every spot on the line or something to that effect.

Is that weight accurate? Small for an OL if so. Would definately need time in the s&c program so I would have to assume RS.
